Some Dumbass actually traded it in at the Games 4 Less! The dude who bought it showed it to me and we chatted a bit. I offered him $300.00 but he wasn't interested. GRRR! Can you belive Games 4 Less sold it to him for only $10?!?!?!?! GEEZ! Just goes to show you that the world is full of dumb-shits who trade in super rare carts! Jasoco #6 Posted May 13, 2003 Makes me feel better about not buying that Virtual Boy, Genesis, 32X and Turbo Grafix 16 a while back. Wait.. no it doesn't. $300 and he still kept it. He had to be a collector too. Tough break. *pssst* What's World Championships?
Mayhem #7 Posted May 13, 2003 Nintendo World Championships 1990. I'm right in thinking that the competition was held all around the country on a specially produced NES cart, which later went to the winner of each heat per store. These were grey in colour and probably number 100+ in total. There's also a rarer gold version that was handed out to certain people, I think about 25-30 of them in total exist. That one has sold $5000+ on eBay, making it the most valuable cart in existance...
Jasoco #8 Posted May 13, 2003 I hope you told the clerk how much that cartridge he just sold was worth. Though, it might make them a little more weary to valuable carts and they'd start grabbing them first. Just a question, if I go into a GameStop and look through the old cartridges bin, are there any semi-rare carts I should be looking for? Just in case? Nintendo Penguin #9 Posted May 13, 2003 The best I have found in the wild (World Championship Cart aside) is about a 6 an the rarity scale. The advantage to finding them at Gamestop or elsewhere is that semi-rare carts are often very cheap at these places, as they usually only mark-up popular games. Check out the rairty list (incomplete on my website. You can Also visit the digital press website for a rarity lis next time you go shopping.

Just a question, if I go into a GameStop and look through the old cartridges bin, are there any semi-rare carts I should be looking for? Just in case? Don't them the jerks..ummm..clerks about how valuable those cartridges are worth. There is already a problem with some thrifts overcharging on common cartridges. We don't want everyone else to start overcharging. If they are not aware of how valuable something is, then it is their loss.
Nintendo Penguin #12 Posted May 14, 2003 To the best of my knowledge, there are 90 grey carts and 26 gold carts. The grey ones were for the semi-finalists and the grey ones were competition carts given out at random to Nintendo Power Subscribers.
