Macross Scrambled Valkyrie famicom vs super famicom

Recommended Posts

Ok this is just very confusing. Researching these games and I keep finding conflicting info. Basically you have a Famicom Version and Super Famicom Version. The problem is people refer to both back and forth w/the same name.

Basically I want to know for sure which is which. I am inclined to Believe the Famicom (nes) version should be titled "Choujikuu Yousai Macross" and the Super Famicom (snes) version should be titled "Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie"

Can anyone confirm I am correct on this terminology. Many people are referring to the Famicom as Scrambled Valkyrie and to the Super Famicom as "Choujikuu Yousai Macross" and then there is even more mixing up online.

Chō Jikū Yōsai Macross which means The Super Dimension Fortress Macross is basically on all Macross games in that universe, kinda like Dragonball Z games

Chō Jikū Yōsai: Scrambled Valkyrie is the SNES Game only

Here is a walk though that show the title opening on them

Famicom one reads The Super Dimension Fortress Macross

The Super Dimension Fortress Macross Scrambled Valkyrie

Ok so if I get this correct Nes would be "Choujikuu Yousai Macross" and snes would be "Choujikuu Yousai Macross: : Scrambled Valkyrie"

Or in English Nes would be "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross" and snes would be "The Super Dimension Fortress Macross: Scrambled Valkyrie"

Yes, I also double checked cart photos and the super famicom is the only one with more then Choujikuu Yousai Macross which is

スクランブルバルキリー which is Japanese characters for Scrambled Valkyrie and is spoken pretty close to how its spoken in english

I have owned both of them.

The SFC one is Super Dimension Fortress Macross Scramble Valkyrie to keep this clear, and the other is that Choujikuu Yousai Macross. They're loosely similar, but realistically barely so. FC game is just a circular path up to a zentraedi cruiser you enter and blow out the core to wash rinse repeat. The other has an interesting take on many stages (pick US named Max, Miriya, or Rick to fly in them) based upon the Macross part of what the US knows as Robotech either in print or mostly so from the cartoon series. I consider it one of the finest shooters on the system, probably the best if you exclude the love everyone tosses at Konami.

It was just made clear please don't confuse this gain. They are Both Choujikuu Yousai Macross. Just the snes version has Scrambled Valkyrie after it. They are also both Super Dimension Fortress Macross when translated and the snes has Scrambled Valkyrie after it.

The only difference is Scrambled Valkyrie to make it the snes version.

I was clear, they're two different games around the same franchise and the names are a little different with the subtitle.

You make it confusing by calling one by it's English name then saying the other by it's Japanese name. That was my whole point in this thread. Soon as Enoofu made it clear that The translation of Choujikuu Yousai Macross = Super Dimension Fortress Macross that was when it was clear.

There was nothing left for you to make clear.
