Diablo II?

Hey all. I was thinking about getting this game. I here its pretty good. I just have a few questions.

 

1. What kind of online game is it? Like EverQuest or is there limited interaction capabilities?

 

2. Whats the best character type?

 

3. What do I have to do to play online with my friends.

I dunno anything about Diablo II. I did play Diablo on the PS1 and it's was pretty fun.

Does anyone know if this game is available in any form on the Dreamcast?

Seems like everything else is.

DII is supposed to be an online game. I hope it is... I wanna either be a Paladin or a Necromancer... Maybe Barbarian...

1) It's an hack'n slash, more an action/Rpg than a real Rpg

2) My favorite is the paladin

3) You can play online or offline. To play online you need : an original copy of the Game + internet connexion, nothing more

Are people STILL playing Diablo II?

 

 

I lost intrest in the game over a year ago (a few months after the expansion pack was released actually). The game just got boring after awhile and the cheating was so rampant it was ridiculous. You couldn't trade for anything for fear it was a duped item. Everyone used the same tired old character combinations (oh you're a Barbarian Whilwinder? How original! Let me introduce you to the 40 Paladin Zealots I just met). I also got sick of the 12 yearolds causing trouble and generally making the game unfun. Diablo II is definetly past its prime, but I hear they're releasing a new patch (over a year after they promised it!)

The best character is the Assassin. She's got those fire cannons that annhilates practically everything in seconds. Wall of fire is good too.

Interesting, but I think my time on Diablo II has passed. If I'm going to get back into a another online RPG it will probably be PSO. has anyone been on lately? How bad is the cheating situation?

1) Nothing like Everquest, hack and slash with chat and trading online.

2) I was always partial to the Necromancer

3) Single player or Online, your choice, for online you need a net connection, and a BATTLE.NET (free) account last I checked

I just did some reading. Over 100,000 accounts were shut down because of morons using cheats and hacks. More info here.
