Super Nintendo Classic Edition - SNES Mini thread

Recommended Posts

^Given my increasing age and diminishing eye-sight, if I were to collect something like the 3DS, the XLarge version would have to be it. :D

I'll probably play it on a larger screen, someday, maybe..

I saw that the other day. While I did buy the NES version of the GBA-SP and then got the Anniversary GBA Micro (Famicom Edition)...This time I'll have to say no. Too many other things I've got my eye on and not nearly enough money anyway ...

I think the New 3DS is ugly enough on its own, without having to disguise itself as an early 1990s piece of plastic. It's amazing what nostalgia does to people!

Just imagine an iPhone in translucent Bondi Blue plastic. Or a Microsoft Surface with beige IBM PC trimmings and a Turbo button.

So I finally got around to adding more games to one of my SNES Classics.. it's pretty cool. I only added a couple dozen or so, games that I thought were missed in there like Chrono Trigger, Actraiser, Tetris Attack, etc.. The thing you get with this that you don't get off the bat in say.. the standard RPI3 or a SD2SNES is the nice menu and bouncy music  Anyway.. it was pretty easy to do. I actually highly recommend it.

I grabbed another one of these systems for my kid. They're really not hard to come by are they? Not walk into retail and wow easy but nothing horrible either.

I hear they have them at our small town gamesnot, ballermart however still does not have a slot for them. Closer to civilization where I work the guy at target and walbarf (probally the same guy the way they pay those people) said they fly out the door

plenty of flashback's though!

The walmart I grabbed that one at, they didn't know I had them and the guy went in back. I tried to get a 2nd one to hack, but he wouldn't let me have it and only because as he put it, if the employees knew they were there they'd have bought them. By the time I got home and checked (10~min later) the online SKU tracker on brickseek showed a 0 so the dude voided them and made some phone calls I imagine.

Well if they sold that first day through they maybe knocked out a couple million units in 72 hours~ so the other guys had no chance. Nintendo hype machine, the SNES of all things, and the fear of scumbag scalpers -- trifecta for fast hyper sales.

Yup it's highly compatible, but not 100% and definitely sketchy when it comes to one off chips and stuff Japan only saw.

That spreadsheet is a bit misleading as I skim it looking at games with problems and some are BS titles and other hacked ROMs which both shouldn't be included or at least in a separate section from the legitimately released titles which is a shame. Also how accurate it is when it's claiming secret of mana (us) doesn't work right, yet it's on of the included games with the console. Is the list open for fools to edit at their own whims?
