S1500
So I thought I would sleep in this morning, and a weird dream happened. I was at my usual coffee spot(Caribou), and for some reason there was a neighborhood electronics recycling event going on. There was only a few people there, and just some tables of stuff. I look closer and see some 2600 & 5200 loose carts. Nothing exciting. See a few boxed TI games in the distance. I look under the table, and see storage tubs full of stuff. I spot a Vectrex! I put 2 controllers in my hoodie's pockets. I pick up what I thought was a Vectrex, but it was some toy robot with a small CRT display in the neck/head area. I put that down and look for the actual Vectrex. I put down my hoodie & cell phone for some reason. Another table has a bunch of boxed 2600 games, with a plastic sleeve around them(like comic books have). Feels like I hit the jackpot! I go back to my hoodie & pick up my phone. The case for my phone is there, but no phone. Someone replaced my cell phone with cardboard filling from one of the Atari game boxes. And then I woke up(slept only 1 hour). Strange dream. I need a new hobby.
Eltigro
Dreams can be weird. I have visited the same non existent game shop in several dreams. I never find anything to buy there. Most of the time I just don't recognize anything they have. Like strange carts to unknown consoles or just games I've never heard of or can't read for whatever reason. But sometimes it's too expensive or not for sale or whatever. The last time I dreamed about it, my dad was with me and he bought a backpack. Besides trying out Duck Hunt once, I don't think I've ever even seen my dad play a video game.
7800fan
I've had dream like that a few times. I can remember one in particular: I was onboard a large cargo type ship that was filled to the brim with dumped game consoles and stuff and I was the only one gathering them all. zetastrike
That happens to me sometimes. Usually I see things I want at the other end of the store and as I walk towards them and get ready to buy, I wake up. I remember one where I was just about to buy a skeleton Saturn and woke up. awhite2600
I used to have these "Reef Store"* dreams frequently about 15 or 20 years ago. That was when games were cheap and plentiful in thrift stores. I still have game related dreams now and then - but not very often. Mine always involve finding a bunch of never before seen 2600 games in some sort of junk store. As soon as I realize that I've found something cool I wake up. * Reef Store was a name given to these dreams on Usenet. It started when someone had a dream about finding games in a store called "Reef Store".

And I very rarely have reef store dreams anymore... I'm still chasing that elusive NES Dilbert cart!
Silverfleet
I've always had weird dreams since I can remember, but in the past few years, there have been a lot about finding some little antique store with a horde of games for dirt cheap. I had one recently where I found a Circuit City that was still open that had bins upon bins of PS1 and Dreamcast games for $1 each.

Scotterpop
There are no Sum Guys at the Reef Store. Indeed. No Sumguys and no Mr. Friendly. It is a wondrous and magical place, bestowing its Positive Cart Energy to the truly faithful!

Wow, I just checked and it's been going on since 2003 (Bravo Sierra Computers). All the posts seem to be annoying right from the beginning. Does he actually sell Atari items, or is it someone just fooling around trying to be annoying. Not sure he would have much of an audience nowadays though! I dunno, there's a BBS we could talk about it on though, as we've seen advertised numerous times. It seems usenet has been left to the spammers & wackos. I'll never forget THE SPACE BOSS and his absolutely fascinating insights into video games, often posted at 3 in the morning.
