Flojomojo #1 Posted May 1, 2017 I don't mean to make light of depression, but this story made me laugh out loud. http://kotaku.com/someone-bought-the-most-depressing-top-gun-game-collect-1794804653 “This lot is a testimony to what depression will do to a man,” the seller, Will Forgham, wrote in the eBay listing. “I do not know why I did this. I don’t even like Top Gun.”
DJ Clae #2 Posted May 1, 2017 The NES game sucks and is common as hell, but people should do whatever needs to be done to cope with depression. Collecting these at least gave him something to do.
Gabriel #3 Posted May 9, 2017 And he bought little stands for them all as well? That's some dedication.
empsolo #4 Posted May 9, 2017 Top gun the second mission for NES isn't to bad of a game. It's actually pretty fun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
godslabrat #5 Posted May 9, 2017 Not making light of this, actually expressing concern, I'm worried about this guy. This is crossing the line from "obesssion' into "compulsion", and is rather alarming when he even admits he doesn't like the game.
Skippy B. Coyote #6 Posted May 9, 2017 Sometimes there's a fine line between collecting games as hobby and hoarding them to distract yourself from some psychological or emotional issue. Out of the wide array of things the collection owner could have done to deal with his girlfriend breaking up with him though I don't think collecting an absurd amount of Top Gun cartridges was a bad thing at all. Sure it's weird, but probably a heck of a lot healthier than finding comfort at the bottom of a bottle or getting angry and picking fights with people. It was pretty novel way to take his mind off what was bothering him and I think the best thing of all about this story is that the original owner was able to get to the point where he didn't need the strange little collection anymore. Depression can be a long row to hoe.
