+toddtmw #1 Posted May 2, 2017 Hi. I've been looking at what I have in my collection vs what is in Atarimania. I have two disks for Alice in Wonderland, but I cannot get them to boot. They crash in Altirra in 400/800 mode, and they seem to hang in XL mode. I have attached them to this post. Anyone able to get them to work? Thanks, -Todd Alice in Wonderland.zip

+Roydea6 #3 Posted May 2, 2017 400/800 with Basic NOPE! Just crashed with error #164 file mismatch before getting to 2nd disk.
phaeron #4 Posted May 3, 2017 Works in XL mode if you just hit a character. The weird thing about this disk is that it has the same form of corruption in four files that happen to have the exact same contents in the first sector as two other files, due to the poem that the files were based on. This implies a rather unique source of corruption. Here's a good sector: Sector 562 / $232 (128 bytes): 000: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 0D 21 6E 64 00 77 68 |..........!nd.wh| 030: 69 6C 65 00 74 68 65 00-73 65 61 00 69 73 00 62 |ile.the.sea.is.b| 040: 6F 69 6C 69 6E 67 00 68-6F 74 00 61 6E 64 00 00 |oiling.hot.and..| 050: 77 68 65 74 68 65 72 00-70 69 67 73 00 68 61 76 |whether.pigs.hav| 060: 65 00 77 69 6E 67 73 7B-00 63 61 6C 6C 6F 6F 68 |e.wings{.callooh| 070: 7B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-63 61 6C 6C 61 6E 33 7D |{.......callan3}| ...and here's a bad one: Sector 569 / $239 (128 bytes): 000: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 010: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 |................| 020: 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-00 0D 21 6E 64 00 77 68 |..........!nd.wh| 030: 69 6C 65 00 74 68 65 00-73 65 61 00 69 73 00 62 |ile.the.sea.is.b| 040: 6F 69 6C 69 6E 67 00 68-6F 74 00 61 6E 64 00 00 |oiling.hot.and..| 050: 77 68 65 74 68 65 72 00-70 69 67 73 00 68 61 76 |whether.pigs.hav| 060: 65 00 77 69 6E 67 73 7B-00 63 61 6C 6C 6F 6F 68 |e.wings{.callooh| 070: 7B 00 00 00 00 00 00 00-63 61 6C 6C 72 3A 7D 0A |{.......callr:}.| WALRUS1-2.TXT are good, WALRUS3-6.TXT are bad. In all four cases, the first sector of the file was munged by damage in the last three bytes -- deletion of either the byte at $7C or $7D and then $0A being left in offset $7F from the previous sector. With both the poem and the allocation pattern being repetitive, this can be fixed by hand... but the pattern of damage is disturbing.
_The Doctor__ #5 Posted May 3, 2017 The pattern of damage is indeed almost as if on purpose or as if a drive might drag a piece of something around, might we suggest a thorough drive cleaning? or use a different drive?
