shear_xear
Hi everyone. I just recapped my The Voice unit and I found a component floating around inside. Can anyone help me identify this so I can try to replace it? It is the little blue chicklet with CSA 3.12MS printed on it. Thanks!
metarog
Hi, it goes right there where you have it on Y1 facing towards C1. I hope that is what you wanted and to know.
shear_xear
Actually, I know where it would go, but the legs snapped off, so I believe I need a replacement, but have no idea what part to look for. All searches for what is on the part gave me nothing, Thanks though!
+KylJoy
I do not know right off where to get one but you can probably solder that back on. I would try to solder it back like it is but I might need to scrape away a bit of the blue coating from the legs and then solder the legs back. What have you got to lose? It's already broken.
shear_xear
I was thinking about that, but had no idea if that would work. Suppose it is worth a try. Thanks!
shear_xear
So, that did the job. Thanks for all the help!

metarog
Great news... I was going to suggest the same thing. As long as a little bit of the leg is on there it should work. Nice job.
Rolo
The part you were looking for is the crystal for the clock oscillator of the speech chip. It's running at 3.12 MHz. Rolo
