Drat!  This is one of the problems with being in the Central Time zone ... people on the east coast ring in the new year an hour earlier, and if you forget to compensate, you miss out on being the first to bump this thread.  (Remember when this was the "big epic thread" on AtariAge?  I'm surprised to see that it's only 37 pages.)

Happy New Year, everyone!  Here's hoping for a better one.

Last night was my earliest bedtime for new years eve.  The wife & I didn't give two shits about any garbage music or new years eve shows.  We were in bed by 10PM.  Funny enough - I damn near ate a hamburger off the floor like we see above just 10 minutes prior :)  Good thing I am an old pro - started 2021 without a hangover.

It occurs to me that this thread will be 20 years old in just a couple years....

And it occurs to me that after 20 years, with all the new developments that help with 2600 games, a real Knight Rider game could be made for the system.

Sadly, this may have to be put to rest.  A major part of the equation is missing.  RIP Kinkos - your toner smell will never be forgotten.

It wouldn't take a whole lot of hard work to make it with batari Basic. There are several people who could have a finished game in two or three days.

Even better would be if a really talented programmer(s) made the game as close to the pipedream that hardwork originally blabbed on about. I think it would probably end up one of the best selling homebrews ever.  Use all the DPC and ARM and whatever the hell you can get a 2600 to acknowledge to make it an epic game. Stick to the names and references made by that guy 20 years ago and run with it.

How about a GFM campaign, to get said programmer motivated?  That cart would sell more copies than Boulder Dash (or insert other games with a known large quantity here), I am sure of it. ?????

That might be a thing, I dunno. I wonder what kinda cash would be needed to get someone with the chops to program it interested?
