Nukey Shay #2 Posted May 15, 2003 Looks like the Genesis version of GS (a Game Genie-type cart that allows game cheating).

Ze_ro #8 Posted May 16, 2003 Perhaps a little off-topic... but what ever happened to the Game Genie? Used to be popular prior to the PSX days. Did Camerica go out of business and stop making them? Or did they start calling them something else like the Xploder? I remember hoping that they'd make a Game Genie for the Jaguar... it was my only hope to actually beat Cannon Fodder. --Zero
Nukey Shay #9 Posted May 16, 2003 Huh? Game Genie was a Galoob invention. Once competitors began appearing that had access to more of the Rom, that probably had something to do with them calling it quits. Wasn't there a lawsuit between them and Nintendo? How did that turn out? Fun fact for cheaters: Two Genies can be used at the same time to double your codes in most Nes games. Three Genies will render the game Rom inaccessable, tho. Vic George 2K3 #10 Posted May 16, 2003 Actually, Game Genie was a Code Masters invention; Galoob only got the American rights to distribute it, and Camerica the Canadian rights. As far as Nintendo's lawsuit against Galoob, all it did was prevent that company from distributing the Game Genie until a year later when the decision was overturned in Galoob's favor. However, Nintendo couldn't stop Camerica from selling the Game Genie in Canada, so they got it earlier.
Ze_ro #11 Posted May 16, 2003 Ahh... so that's why I'm the only one who ever seems to remember Camerica --Zero
Nukey Shay #12 Posted May 16, 2003 Ahh...I'm sure there are plenty of cheaters in Canada too
Zeus #13 Posted May 16, 2003 I found that the Game Genie was best with Final Fantasy. The worst part about that game was saving up for items and weapons. With the GG you could have "unlimited" money, which really meant you still had to save, just that your money was never decreased. Saved you from wasting hour after hour looking for monsters
Nukey Shay #14 Posted May 16, 2003 ...or you could use the "official" NYOUTAAE code. That one gives you a cool million right from the start.
