pjbramley
I know the majority of floppy disk programs have been transferred to disk images and are being utilised by a number of different devices, but there are a few cassette specific programs and I was wondering if anyone has considered producing a cable to run from an SIO port to an iPod or similar device? The files could be saved as mp3 files and hit play when the program needs to be loaded.
Heaven/TQA
MP3 is no lossless Format which is needed for data.
Rybags
The computer itself doesn't process the incoming FSK tones, that's done by the tape recorder (410, 1010 etc). What can be done is playing MP3 via a cassette adaptor which has a 3.5mm plug and produces the audio with heads that mate up with the tape player's heads. In this case the input media you use can be all sorts of things - iPod, mobile phone, CD player, laptop computer etc. In the modern day though we have better devices if you want to spend a few bucks more... SIO2BT (Bluetooth) is one such device worth a look at.
