Wanted Atari XE Game System

Recommended Posts

I'm hoping someone out there has an Atari XE game system they would like to sell. I'm only really interested if it's in great shape. I don't need the peripherals and the machine doesn't actually need to work. I plan on using it in an upcoming photo shoot. If you have one for sale let me know the price and send over a few pics if you can. I would really appreciate it.

That is funny. I was just going to suggest Paul Westphal over at EightBitFix.com. He beat me to it.

I certainly hope this machine is used for more than a photo shot. It would be a tragic waste so see it go to someone who won't use it, and doesn't appreciate its true beauty, and I don't mean photographic beauty.

If you want an Atari to shoot, look for an Atari 1450XLD. Keep watching eBay. The XE series is NOT a good representative of Atari for a photo shoot. They are the worst, cheapest possible design of Atari, and we don't like them because they were made by a Commie.

Shoot that :)

Kyle22, Holy crap that was harsh :) I take it you're not a fan of the XEGS. That particular system happens to have a color scheme that goes with the shoot. Keep in mind this is photo shoot is not specific to Atari either, more of a representation of the era. If I start adding elements that are too recognizable I run the risk of distractions.

As a side note: I am an avid collector of Atari games and systems.

I think he was referring to the Commodore crew that took over Atari as part of Tramiel's purchase. That team pushed the "XE" design language to match the ST line.
