strangest cart deal I've made yet..

Recommended Posts

Today I went to the pawn shop with some stainless steel pans my mother bought just before she passed away a decade ago with the plan on getting some cash out of them. I had kept a few basic pans for my own use (it was a big set that came from Sear) .. but the guy at the pawn shop wasn't interested in them..

So i left them in my car and when in to look around a bit while I was there and said to him I'd was wanting to a trade for some Atari games.. so he was suddenly ok with that. I ended up with Gremlin, Video Pinball and Night Driver. Now I know the pans where worth far more then those carts, but I've tried selling the pan on kijiji and never got a serious off and the plan was just to drop them at Goodwill today then I thought of the pawn shop.. So instead of a donate getting nothing in return, 3 additional carts to my collection..

So I guess I did come out better then just donating...

Congratulations on at least getting something for your collection. It took me a very long time to find a Gremlin's cartridge, and I have never seen another "in the wild".

Having been part of clearing two family members houses, there is much household stuff that is very expensive to purchase new, but that has almost zero resale value.

Personally, I am using a stainless steel soup pot that my Grandfather purchased in the early-1970s (if not even earlier).

I know, even though those are high end expensive pans, the ones I like to cook with best are the much lighter basic JC Penny brand pans mom bough new when we lived in Florida in 1979.. of could I have a nostalgia thing, old computers, video games, hotel stuff.. etc
