NE146 #26 Posted May 16, 2003 When you get good, you only fall in the holes you NEED to for the stuff (And if you accidentally fall in anyhow you can catch yourself in midair if you're reasonably fast enough )

NE146 #29 Posted May 16, 2003 I could never figure out what you were supposed to do exept wander around aimlessly losing points Try reading the manual dude. In a nutshell, you walk around until you hit a "?" icon, then you press the button and it will tell you if a piece of your phone is in a nearby ditch. Get all 3 pieces. Go find the Space Invader Icon, press the button, then get to the landing pad area and stand there and wait for your spaceship to arrive. Don't be late! Gregory DG #33 Posted May 16, 2003 I actually learned to appreciate the game after I got a copy of the manual. Playing it without the agents helps a bunch too. (I believe it's game 3.)
ziggystar #34 Posted May 16, 2003 Everyone always says how bad E.T. was. I mean, what kind of game Could it have been? I guess flying the bicycle through the air might have been better but gee, the movie doesnt have many elements to base a great game on. I think its pretty fun except for the tedious-ness of getting out of holes.
Witchfynde #35 Posted May 16, 2003 I guess flying the bicycle through the air might have been better but gee, the movie doesnt have many elements to base a great game on. That doesn't really matter, since some of the Star Wars games for the Sega Game Gear (and I suspect Nintendo and all) had bosses that were never in the movies (or maybe the battles weren't in there, at least). AtariDude #41 Posted May 17, 2003 I really like the E.T. movie but the Atari game was only so-so. I have a copy but only because it came with the collection that I bought.

Christophero Sly #44 Posted May 17, 2003 I have E.T., but I've never played it...I don't know whether I hate it or not. I hated the movie though. Strangely enough, I've only seen this cart twice in the wild.
Big Player #45 Posted May 17, 2003 I don't believe I have E.T. It's tough to say since my collection is spread over three locations. I might have it in a lot of common games. But I doubt it. I know I could have gotten it at the Cinciclassic. There were two or three E.T. carts in the free cart box. And they were still there when the show was over. +Nathan Strum #46 Posted May 17, 2003 Not only do I not have the cartridge (nor have I ever)... I have never seen the movie. In fact, I've gone out of my way to avoid it. Once I saw the clip of ET and the little girl screaming at each other - that was it. I decided then and there I'd never see it. Besides, he always looked like an anorexic Yoda to me. Gregory DG #47 Posted May 17, 2003 It's a great movie, it'll make you cry... Kinda like Old Yeller in that respect. The game isn't that great, but it's better than it's reputation.
