It's been about a year and so far I haven't seen anyone wearing an asshat... err Speakerhat® out in public. Has anyone else? I'd guess anyone with lots of cash will buy that and a Schmuck Z.

Austin Creed (the WWE wrestler who has a YouTube gaming channel called 'UpUpDownDown') was wearing one...

I don't usually follow wrestling, but I just learned these facts

- this site says he's part of a group who is the number one underpaid in wrestling https://www.therichest.com/sports/wrestling/7-most-overpaid-and-7-most-underpaid-wrestlers-on-wwes-roster/

- he's also known as Xavier Woods and his birth name is Austin Watson, which seems like a perfectly cromulent wrestling name
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xavier_Woods

- his channel up up down down makes enough money to buy two stupid speaker hats every day
https://naibuzz.com/much-money-upupdowndown-makes-youtube-net-worth/

Hurray for Google!

Edit: and I only just now noticed what was wrong with CommodoreCEO's faked photo, LOL

The guy on the left, Shinsuke Nakamura, needs to stop hitting his opponents in the balls.

Wait, maybe that's just a metaphor for the whole Atari VCS thing? It's all one giant kick in the balls. Learn to enjoy the pain.

Faked photo? He's actually wearing it. Here's the video...

I actually found a "use" for Speakerhats. It is for that one day where we as a species are all in harmony and you can walk out your front door and all play "Dancing in the streets" together, and dance to the same tune wherever you go!

That would be cool, but we will have killed the Atari VCS and its speakerhats by then.

Man, this Ataribawx topic is really getting stale now that they got their money. I love how the officially curated Ataribawx FAQ and info thread has digressed into a feedback forum for Biff's much self promoted home brew game. I think this just became the more relevant topic, tacos and all. (That ain't saying much)

Why do I have to wait longer than usual? This is not just pre-orders: You're helping to build the device, and we need to know how many to make before we can start production. This is the first of its kind, and you'll be glad you waited. We will send you updates while we work to produce the first batch.

Obviously all the backers are busy helping to build the device. Atari® wouldn't have said that if it weren't true.

If Atari doesn't provide an update in the next 17 days, they're liable to lose the 3 million dollars for violating Indiegogo's ToS.

Citation needed? Is there a hard and fast rule about updates needing to come out every so often or they lose their money?

It's not quite $3M. Perhaps you'd like to throw in a bit more just to get them over the hump.

Edit: Ah yes, it does exist. Not sure how tough they really are on campaign runners, but section 4 of https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms#/creatingandrunning says

As a Campaign Owner, you are entering into a legal agreement with a Contributor when they make a Contribution to your Campaign, which includes the following obligations (in addition to the all other Terms and Additional Policies):

    • Legal obligations of Campaign Owners
    1. Make good faith efforts to fulfill the Perks associated with a Campaign in the timeframe that is communicated to Contributors.
    2. Immediately notify Contributors if there are obstacles or delays.
    3. Respond promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by Contributors.
    4. Provide substantive and quality updates at least once a month to Contributors.
    5. If you have received the Contributions from your Campaign, issue refunds to Contributors if you cannot deliver Perks.
    6. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations in the use of Contributions and delivery of Perks.

Certainly. Here's a quote taken directly from IndieGoGo's TOS:

4. Legal obligations of Campaign Owners

As a Campaign Owner, you are entering into a legal agreement with a Contributor when they make a Contribution to your Campaign, which includes the following obligations (in addition to the all other Terms and Additional Policies):

a. Make good faith efforts to fulfill the Perks associated with a Campaign in the timeframe that is communicated to Contributors.

b. Immediately notify Contributors if there are obstacles or delays.

c. Respond promptly and truthfully to all questions posed to them by Contributors.

d. Provide substantive and quality updates at least once a month to Contributors.

Given Nutari™'s litigious nature, I would not be surprised if their lawyers found a loophole in Indigogo's TOS big enough to drive a taco truck through.

Well that's the other thing-- on section 5 of the TOS it *almost* seems to contradict itself:

https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms

Atari could actually use that section as a defense against section 4. Lol.

@Lod

Whose side are you on, anyway, taking both sides like that, yet again.

You are a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, inside an enigma, in a plastic ribbed shell with a small wooden strip on the front, not shipping until summer 2019.

Lod is on whoever publishes his game side :)

Well I thought I made it perfectly clear before-- I'm looking at it from both angles and pretty much just weighing in facts/information on both sides. Lol.
