These people really need to realize how things work. Atari wouldn't use that game. Not because it sucks, but because it would need approved by at least Nintendo and Namco.

Wow, the "team" over at Slifker games (and by team it is assumed Biff and his sock puppets) must have spent a mint on trademark registrations, and those casinos will be bustin down his, er I mean, their door down with "serious" distribution deals. It's not every gaming company that can make a card game in Unity with no coding skills............. is it? Just thinking back to his claims earlier in this thread that any indie game that was marketed properly could sell tens of thousands of copies.  Hard to square that with the 5 downloads for his puzzle game in three months on the Google Store (as well as four, five star reviews from himself and three family members) and the 500 downloads of the poker game in that same time period, also on the Google Store.

That seems to be a recurring theme with people who support this system.   Almost all of them seem to have issues with the real world.

I'm currently reading through the book "The Skeptic's Guide to the Universe," and in chapter 41, about a presentation of 'free energy,' presented by one Dennis Lee, came this, and I immediately thought of fred...

Quote

The tactics used by Dennis Lee and others is to pack in as many people into a conference room as possible and then dazzle them rapid-fire with one fantastic device after another. Over the course of several hours, those with more sense slowly drift away, leaving the most susceptible behind. Mental fatigue also begins to take its toll.

After the demonstration, the audience is left with the sense that even if only one of these amazing devices turns out to work, they will become rich by investing in them. And that is what Lee sells -- the opportunity to invest in his company. People are asked to purchase a product, because Lee has no legitimate products to sell. Instead he sells an investment or a dealership.

...In a firsthand report, a former owner of one of Lee's dealerships relates how Lee keeps people on the hook, sucking as much money out of them as possible, and then cuts them loose when they are finally onto the scam.

Change a few words, and you have the Atacobox kerfuffle in a nutshell.

Must be a new pay cycle, because the "Atari" social media minion is back in action. "You Know You Want One!" ?

I love how easily this angry fella is appeased by "Atari" promising more announcements later in the summer.

Sensing the restlessness of the pigeons, "Atari_VCS_Official" gets ahead of the not-a-problem-at-all issue of no systems exclusives with the usual codswallop.

Quote

Hey there! As I've mentioned before, we will have more game announcements later this summer. Summer Just started! Totally understand the frustration, but know that your patience is greatly appreciated.

We are working with developers and there is a TON of work going on behind the scenes to be able to get you guys the best system we can. We are buried in work with how overwhelmingly positive the response from developers has been!

We love you guys - the community - and know that we wouldn't still be thriving as a company and a brand without you. We've been very upfront in saying that we have more announcements coming soon. I think a lot of frustration stems from the fact that the announcements have been rolling out in waves, but I get it! On the other hand, how much fun would it be if everything got announced at once?

To provide some clarity on gaming on the system in general - understand that the VCS isn't meant to be "just another console" or likewise, where exclusives are the only thing that sells the system - we are going for the opposite of that. Sure, that's there, but it isn't the main focus. We want the VCS to be viewed as a powerful mini-PC for the living room, capable of gaming, streaming, creating, and so much more! You can customize the system to your heart's desire, while still having the ability to come back to the Atari World and play in a playground that we've designed. Your possibilities are -endless- in Sandbox Mode; there are no restrictions on your gaming! For that reason - we aren't leaning heavily on the exclusives - yet - because we want to showcase the other features of the system that set it apart.

Consoles are not one size fits all, and the Atari VCS aims to bridge that gaps and provide the freedom where consoles cut players off.

That said, we will have more announcements soon. Game-related and otherwise! I know you all are sick of hearing that from me, but that's what I have for you for now. As soon as I get the green light to reveal more or start hyping you guys up, you best believe I jump on here first to give you the scoop! :D

I also wonder where the Kevlar went and I also like that Walmart has payment plans...

Now my question is on the IGG scam after they sold out the super rare collector's number wood-grain. They went back later and sold more and said they weren't numbered. Is that also another type of wood flavored stickers or what?

Not that any of these questions matter the Atari intern doesn't answer straight questions anyways.

Hey there! As I've mentioned before,

Gosh! I've had to write this like 5 times already!

we will have more game announcements later this summer.

Per Dubs, expect something no later than September 23rd, 2019, possibly another delay.

Summer Just started!

The road to the un-console is paved with excuses.

Totally understand the frustration,

Totally believable, since this sucker is out in public as a meat shield while The Team applies beard oil and tightens up the graphics on level 3.

but know that your patience is greatly appreciated.

because if you took three million dollars and invested it for a year, you would see a $50,000 appreciation, even at just 5% growth!

We are working with developers

No names, of course

and there is a TON of work going on

1 ton = 2000 lbs, so maybe that's 10 developers? Or maybe 7 or 8 big ones?

behind the scenes

... in the plywood garage ...

to be able to get you guys

Not sexist at all, because have you seen a single ladyperson express interest in this circus?

the best system we can.

low bar

We are buried in work

just call us the Alamogordo Landfill

with how overwhelmingly positive the response from developers has been!

Wouldn't it be neat to hear from them directly? Naaaaaah, you have to wait

We love you guys - the community -

Dog whistle, activate!

and know that we wouldn't still be thriving as a company and a brand without you.

gag me with a SwordQuest

We've been very upfront in saying that we have more announcements coming soon.

yeah, so much transparency. We've told you we're not telling you anything!

I think a lot of frustration stems from the fact that the announcements have been rolling out in waves, but I get it!

No, the frustration stems from the fact that it's been two years and you've yet to show anything working, but I get it!

On the other hand, how much fun would it be if everything got announced at once?

Yeah, competence is no fun at all.

To provide some clarity on gaming on the system in general - understand that the VCS isn't meant to be "just another console" or likewise, where exclusives are the only thing that sells the system - we are going for the opposite of that.

So, the opposite of the heavily subsidized, well-loved Xbox, or the innovative, universally adored Switch, or the hardcore favorite PlayStation? Great plan!

Sure, that's there, but it isn't the main focus.

Is it now?

We want the VCS to be viewed as a powerful mini-PC for the living room, capable of gaming, streaming, creating, and so much more!

Except not so powerful. And a PC isn't exactly hard to find.

You can customize the system to your heart's desire,

So long as you're able to support yourself, because "Atari" ain't doing it.

while still having the ability to come back to the Atari World and play in a playground that we've designed.

For illustration purposes only.

Your possibilities are -endless- in Sandbox Mode; there are no restrictions on your gaming!

112 Video Games!

For that reason - we aren't leaning heavily on the exclusives - yet - because we want to showcase the other features of the system that set it apart.

Like, not existing! And not being able to return it for a refund!

Consoles are not one size fits all,

What does this even mean?

and the Atari VCS aims to bridge that gaps

Climb ev'ry mountain!

and provide the freedom where consoles cut players off.

Too many games! Not enough ways to install Linux on an external partition!

That said, we will have more announcements soon.

Believe it when you see it.

Game-related and otherwise!

We'll also have all new excuses! Stay tuned!

I know you all are sick of hearing that from me,

Oh, you have no idea

but that's what I have for you for now.

In other words, less than nothing

As soon as I get the green light to reveal more

Roxanne, you don't have to put on the green light

Walk the streets for money

You don't care if it's wrong or if it's right

or start hyping you guys up,

Some groups are more easily hyped than others ...

you best believe I jump on here first to give you the scoop!

And we will be right here to dump on anything less than a coherent plan and a competent delivery. Honestly, is that asking too much?

Funny, C&D orders will do that to ya. For their next slight of hand, they're rebranding the Wal Mart exclusive version the ......"Target Foot Pong Edition"

Correction, 5% interest on 3M is $150,000.

I think a lot of frustration stems from the fact that the announcements have been rolling out in waves, but I get it!

Wave 1....

ataribox-email.png

Wave 2....
Q: What games will be included?

A: You can see more about the Atari Vault and Tempest 4000 in the Indiegogo page here. We can't comment further on specific games and content right now, but we will have much more news as the project progresses. Keep watching for more updates and announcements!

Q: What exactly is the new Atari VCS?

A: Atari VCS is not a retro-box, but a platform to bring together all kinds of independent content creators. An entirely new Atari ecosystem takes time, perseverance, and more to build the best version of Atari VCS with collaborations between our new ecosystem and the world’s best content creators.

Wave 3.....

We’ve had lots of questions about the software developers, system architects, and designers working with us to bring the Atari VCS™ to life. We have sourced the best of the best to work alongside our team at Atari to create our new hardware system. We are excited to finally pull back the curtain and introduce a team member who has been a “behind-the-scenes” contributor until now.

Wave 4.....

ALL Atari VCS campaign orders are now locked in, so we can now move forward with manufacturing, packaging, and delivery. please see the detailed refund/cancellation policy in the FAQs at the bottom of our Indiegogo campaign page if you have any questions.

Wave 5.....

Rob Wyatt, the (fired) system architect of the original Xbox®️ console and other systems has been consulting with the Atari VCS team for many months and today we can officially welcome Rob and his company Tin Giant to the team.

1*qVSzfDojtxkW5i4rTq0N3Q.jpeg

Wave 6....

Speaking of BackerKit, we are glad to see that so many of you have found and taken advantage of the special “backer-only” limited-edition Atari VCS t-shirts! They are exclusively for Atari VCS backers, come in navy blue or dark gray, and will only be available for a few more weeks. On November 30th, the offer ends and the t-shirts will start shipping to arrive for the holidays, so order now while you still can!  We will look to add additional cool backer-exclusive items and promotions between now and the Atari VCS launch!

We love that many of you hunger to see more frequent updates from the Atari VCS team on a variety of topics. We’d certainly like to do more too! We are a small team, with everyone wearing a lot of hats and tending to numerous tasks as we continue forward with product development, and plan to make more frequent posts that provide a look behind the scenes.

Wave 7....

We are very excited by the progress we’ve made this year with the VCS, and are happy to share our final update of 2018. As always, there’s a lot of debate about what is or is not ready for sharing. It’s hard to balance our desire to share and community hunger for updates, against the corporate need to keep certain things secret because we can’t reveal too much or think something might or will change, and much needs to stay highly confidential until ready to share. We appreciate your ongoing patience and hope that you will enjoy this month’s hardware update.

More on that shortly, but as always, first some basic housekeeping... Those of you who ordered the limited edition Atari VCS t-shirts should know that those will start shipping this week! Please note that if you ordered a t-shirt(s) your entire BackerKit shopping cart will be charged now, which means that any additional items like extra joysticks and controllers will also charged along with the tees.

Wave 8....

Now, let's talk about the Atari VCS team and CES... We want to report that VCS system architect Rob Wyatt is fully recovered from his accident and has been for some time. The team has been full speed ahead after the holiday, and we will have more updates from Rob and the rest of the VCS team very soon!We had a great time at CES 2019 (Consumer Electronics Show), the post-holiday gathering of nearly 200,000 tech and consumer electronics brands, manufacturers, inventors, exhibitors, retailers, media, and industry professionals that descend on Las Vegas annually. CES and the subsequent weeks have certainly been eventful for the Atari VCS team. Industry interest in the VCS is at an all-time high, and there has been a lot of excitement and progress surrounding content, distribution plans and many other aspects of the VCS ecosystem. We are building something special here, and other companies are taking note! Much more to come; we know this update is a bit shorter than our typical Medium.com developer entries. No promises yet, but if things settle-in like we think they will, our next update will more than make up for it!

Wave 9....

The North American schedule is now targeting end of 2019 for delivery. With this decision to upgrade, and the resulting modifications to the system architecture and software that are needed, the VCS team now projects a new delivery window for the Atari VCS at the end of 2019 for Indiegogo backers.

Wave 10....

Another key topic that Atari addressed regarding the Atari VCS is updates on the project. They have acknowledged the fans requests for more frequent updates, but ask fans and backers to bear in mind that Atari and its partners are constrained by mutually-agreed approval processes and other restrictions that may be legal, self-imposed, regulatory and/or some combination of these. Details about the product(s) and strategies of both Atari and its partners can and will be shared only when all stakeholders agree.

Fans are eager to learn more about the Atari VCS, games, accessories, features, etc. and we at Atari Edge look forward to bringing our readers all the latest news, as well as our thoughts.

Wave 11...

Hello Backers, Fans and Followers!

The Atari VCS team is pleased to make some exciting announcements at the dawn of the 2019 Electronic Entertainment Expo (which we didn't participate in).

The Atari VCS campaign on Indiegogo has officially come to a close (although we haven't delivered a thing, nor shown a working prototype or anything legitimate actually).....models and configurations can now be viewed and ordered for products that will start shipping in March 2020.

Thanks for all your support. Much more information to come!

— The Atari VCS Team

Whoa...all these waves are making me seasick.
