What I think would be cool would be if they reproduced the old hardware. The tia, riot, 6507 socketed dip's and all. Better yet a 6502 with full address support and a bit more memory for future homebrews. With a console that would have a cartridge slot and old school switch's.  With hdmi and composite and rf output with a quality and durable build that would last at least as long as the original sixers. Nice new tough controllers and hell, why not reproduction og cartridges.

So they rebranded it again? "Atari NAS" you say? Well, I guess if that is what the official online spokesman says I have to roll with it. It's quite a bit more honest of a handle so it only makes sense if they do plan on being a more transparent moving forward to the next big delay.

Meanwhile in the VCS supporters group, they're tired of the "this is a scam" broken record, but not of the "big announcements coming" broken record.

Ever notice how "Atari" is always tagging along behind someone bigger, more powerful, more competent? Like Chester and Spike here from Looney Tunes in the days before the real Atari?

 

 

1. First it was industry-leading AMD, as if the average Centipede player couldn't go out and buy a Ryzen PC themselves. 
2. Along the way, there were rumblings of an Internet of Things partner, because that seemed like the hot new thing. "Atari ON," said the promo reel. 
3. Some vague rumblings of innovative new blockchain technologies, as if those would magically create a more entertaining system, because buzzwords. 
4. Then the underappreciated genius Mike "Pantsed" Arzt pointed out that moms needed an easier way to access Netflix, the leading video streamer. 
5. Oh, and PowerA, the player 2 MadCatz controller manufacturer of the 2010s, hot diggedity!
6. After that, just stay tuned for some new announcements! 
7. But you can install Steam in the Sandbox in case Atari Vault isn't enough for you.
8. Then Rob "Stinky Fingers" Wyatt pointed out that his creation assembly of parts whatever it is is like the "Raspberry Pi for your living room" at only 10x the price!
9. And when he was on Fox Business, Fred took special care to point out that their unreleased, low-end, not-yet-seen crowdfunded PC could stream video!

There's going to be a new Google Stadia announcement later this month, and they suggest that it's "all about the games." Can we expect "Atari" to glom onto them? You betcha!

If they had something to say, surely they'd be saying it, not rerunning this "damning with faint praise" stuff, right?
