+JAC!
I'll have to record some videos from Stella but cannot find any good description how to do that. Altirra (for the Atari 8-bit) can directly record to AVI. From what I see, Stella (still) cannot do that. So what is the best alternative to end up with a good 50/60HZ recording? Best regards, Peter/JAC!
+stephena
I believe people using Windows use a program called FRAPS. I don't know what to use for other systems. Adding something like this to Stella has long been on the TODO list.
tschak909
I've used both FRAPS and Open Broadcast Studio (OBS) in record mode, both can be set to 60fps and will record at that speed. Be sure to have your video acceleration properly enabled. -Thom
spacecadet
OBS is what I use, and it works a hell of a lot better than Altirra's built in recording too. You do need a relatively powerful computer to use some of its more advanced encoding features. Though you could probably just record raw AVI like Altirra does if you know your computer can handle that.
Thomas Jentzsch
I am using Bandicam, very simple to use.
+JAC!
Thanks, I'll try these out. I meanwhile also found how it did it before: mess64.exe a2600p -window -nofilter -aviwrite iso-raw.avi -cart "C:\jac\system\Atari2600\Demos\JAC!\ISO (2011)\ISO.bin"
777ismyname
OBS for the win as far as screen recording goes. It is very flexible for so much more also. Sent from my LGUS992 using Tapatalk
+JAC!
Thanks all! Finally managed to get it done properly with OBS. Recording from Stella in fullscreen resulted in aweful gangle bargle sounds. Searched for a while and when I switched to recording from window + upscaling it was all fine. Result will be released soon :-)
