Sinistar 8. Star Trek 9. BattleZone 10. Journey <<<saved u a click>>> Sinistar (Williams Electronics) gave me anxiety like nothing else. Generally solid controls with the track ball Yeah, somebody needs to get back in the arcade and play this one again...
NE146 #2 Posted July 3, 2017 Who's Robot Ron? But yeah.. obviously any of these highly subjective and debatable.. but the editors who loved Kangaroo and Journey my guess probably weren't the most avid gamers.
+Trebor #3 Posted July 3, 2017 Highly subjective, indeed. They really need to specify it is the early 80's they are focusing on, specifically 1980-1983. Donkey Kong missing from that list is near criminal; but again, highly subjective (and debatable).
Keatah #4 Posted July 3, 2017 Journey, Kangaroo, Spy Hunter.. Pfflecchhh. Highly subjective indeed.
AtariLeaf #5 Posted July 3, 2017 My top five are Mr. Do, Phoenix, Donkey Kong, Galaxian and Centipede ( I know Galaxian came out in 79 but lets not split hairs here )
+Trebor #6 Posted July 3, 2017 My top five are Mr. Do, Phoenix, Donkey Kong, Galaxian and Centipede ( I know Galaxian came out in 79 but lets not split hairs here ) Cool, another who has Phoenix as a fav. I actually prefer it over both Galaxian and Galaga, and wish we had something more than the 2600 port and "Eagle Empire" for the C64, respecting home conversions on classic systems.
VectorGamer #7 Posted July 3, 2017 Here are my 10 in no particular order: Star Castle Space Fury Sinistar Star Trek Asteroids Pepper II Space Encounters Cosmic Alien Galaga Jr. Pac-Man
+Trebor #8 Posted July 3, 2017 Tough call, forcing just 10 favs from the 80s. Here's what I came up with presented alphabetically: Bank Panic Donkey Kong Elevator Action Ghosts 'n Goblins Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom Mr. Do! Ms. Pac-Man Pandora's Palace Phoenix Tempest I deliberated with the list a lot. It is easier for me to isolate a Top 5 or 3 games...lol. Undisputed for me is Donkey Kong in the Number 1 spot. NE146 #10 Posted July 4, 2017 No love for Missile Command? Phoenix is in my top 10 too. As a pure arcade rat child.. I was never fond of Missile Command. The game was way too hard! It took the 2600 port to get to me.. as it's one of my all time favorite games ever.

VectorGamer #13 Posted July 11, 2017 Two Tigers Got to play this at Pinball PA the last time I went. It was the first time I played it in 30 years. And I sucked at it. Definitely more fun with two players.
+sramirez2008 #14 Posted July 12, 2017 While not an 80's arcade game (released in '79), Asteroids is my favorite. And its Stormtrooper approved.
