How much would all this be worth?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm trying to get a 7800, so how much would a loose 7800, 2 Pro-Line joysticks, power supply, and a Pole Position II cart be worth?

I'd say $40.00 to $60.00 depending on condition, unless you get lucky and find a cheap BIN on eBay.

Well, I'm looking for one in an OK condition, not mint or bad condition.

For $35-50 you should be able to get a 7800 with a handful of

7800 and 2600 games and a few joysticks. 7800 lots tend to

be pretty interesting because the system was sold at a low

point in Atari and with the backwards compatibility a lot of

owners seemed to have snatched up large 2600 collections.

I have a 7800 with one joystick and 5 games including PP2 that

I am about to sell. If the buyer backs down I'll post here.

Alright, now here's what I want:

Atari 7800 console in OK condition (no cracks, loose)

2 Pro-Line joysticks

power supply

Pole Position 2

Asteroids (7800)

Galaga

Ballblazer

I don't want a switchbox. I can easily get one at Radio Shack, or I can use a female RCA to male RF adapter.

You can get the games you are looking for NIB through Ebay for about $5 each.

The pro-line controllers really stink. You're better off using 2600 controllers or looking around for this:

Well, I've never tried them before, so I want to give the Pro-Lines a chance before I get joypads.

Its been years since I have had Atari ProLine joysticks, but if I remember correctly - they wern't bad.

Atari Joypads, however; SUCK BIG BOOTY :x . I thought that would be the bomb, and purchased a set off of eBay. My bad. They are very cheap feeling; like their going to break any second; the fire buttons are not real responsive and the whole things just a bit awkward.

I'm keeping them, just for my collections sake - but when it comes to classic gaming on Commodores or Ataris, WICO BOSS :D or WICO COMMANDER :D is the ONLY stick to use - period.

Just my 2 cents.

Hmm... Are there any alternatives to the 7800 pads? Perhaps the NES ones could be converted or... (excited glee) maybe the SMS ones uses the same connector? :?:

The SMS pads do have a 9-pin connector, but they won't work on the 7800. Here are the pinouts...

SMS

Pin 1-Up

Pin 2-Down

Pin 3-Left

Pin 4-Right

Pin 5-+5V

Pin 6-Button 1

Pin 7-Not used

Pin 8-Ground

Pin 9-Button 2

A7800

Pin 1-Up

Pin 2-Down

Pin 3-Left

Pin 4-Right

Pin 5-Right Button

Pin 6-Both buttons

Pin 7-Not used

Pin 8-Ground

Pin 9-Left Button

The SMS controllers will work on the 2600 or the 7800 in 2600 mode.

Sounds like a converter gizmo is in order. :D
