Hmm ... if this can load cartridge roms as well as everything else SIDE2 already does it will be perfect. If it can fit into the 1200XL cartridge tunnel it will be perfect-er.

I hope Side3 will read/write ATRs without U1MB installed.

It would be the ultimate loading device.

any chance anyone has a measured diagram or CAD files for SIDE 2? I could take a stab at designing something for 3D printing that is 1200XL friendly.. I'm about to repair a 1200XL keyboard myself so could use this..

How does the data transfer speed compare to the CF card version?

Can it do raw video?

50/60 FPS.

What is the file size limit for an ATR file?

As mad as it sounds, could we have an ATR which is a few gig in size?

Might be useful for video.

Ignore the above mention of video - I just remembered that video data needs to be written directly, not through an ATR.

Gentlemen, all competitiors designes in one piece

Really ? Will it have the same (or similar) user interface like The!cart ? I _love_ the way you can find programs/games by just typing a part of the name.

For me this is what makes The!Cart still my "weapon of choice".....

Amazing Lotharek!Good move to SD.CF are overpriced. Will you support 16gb? Or 32gb sd? As they are in shops now...

Does every program ever written for the Atari 8-bit even come close to 16gb?

no. but, once you start to categorize/sub-divide them by "collection"

ie holmes, pigwa, etc and then factor in demos, serious software and applications

i can see almost 8gb here

Will it emulate an 8-bit IDE interface at the Atari side (and be compatible with all existing SIDE2 software) or will it have a totally new interface? Or both? :)
