davyK #51 Posted August 16, 2017 Must owns: Kaboom Super Breakout Demon Attack Combat Yars' Revenge Overrated: River Raid.I can appreciate it as a technical game but i just found it a bit boring Pitfall and Pitfall. Again - technically impressive but not great games. They aren't bad games either - pretty good actually - just not great. Prefer Pitfall 1 over 2 though. Spider Fighter - Just too damn easy. Tempest #52 Posted August 16, 2017 Pitfall and Pitfall. Again - technically impressive but not great games. They aren't bad games either - pretty good actually - just not great. Prefer Pitfall 1 over 2 though. I think both Pitfall and Pitfall II would benefit from a randomizer mode of some sort. Pitfall II is one of my favorite games (especially the second quest on the 8-bits), but once you know the solution it gets kind of old (I've even done a perfect game several times). That is a good way to describe Pitfall II. I think it is a great sequel, but it gets old quickly to me. Hate those condors and bats and the subsequent float-of-shame back to a checkpoint. The extra quest on 5200 is maddening , too hard for me. I gave up.
davyK #54 Posted August 16, 2017 (edited) An endless runner version of Pitfall would be good. If the movement to the right was automatic and the levels started getting tougher and maybe the speed auto increased too. Of course David Crane was working to squeeze a game into the memory and the TIA's technical limitations - it was very cleverly done. It is a very good game - I just don't rate it among the best on the console. Edited August 16, 2017 by davyK
BassGuitari #55 Posted August 16, 2017 Spider Fighter - Just too damn easy. Check your difficulty switch settings.

Tempest #57 Posted August 17, 2017 Done! I had a feeling I wasn't the first person to have this idea. Actually I'd like to see a Pitfall where there wasn't a time limit, but rather a treasure counter where you had to get x number of treasures to win. Then you could make the screens brutally hard. Thomas Jentzsch #58 Posted August 17, 2017 (edited) Play it on difficulty A, the game starts a bit harder and gets even harder every 8 treasures. Edited August 17, 2017 by Thomas Jentzsch
