+Lathe26 #204 Posted September 16, 2017 Black and blue? Someone is cruising for a bruising! Seriously though, the game sounds fine as is. Blue as the default with the option for black sounds just fine for both camps. Personally, I prefer black but blue is fine. Also, it takes 2 seconds of my life to switch the setting. I've probably already spent more time thinking about this issue, reading all the comments, and writing this comment then I will spend in my life switching the setting in the game... combined. There are bigger things in life. Lastly, software development is not a democratic process.

I don't think it would even take 2 seconds to switch the setting, unless you are playing in the dark and can't see the 9 key on the controller Then again, the blue background light from the TV should illuminate the controller enough to see it
fdr4prez #207 Posted September 16, 2017 Oh, one other thing... can we make the bullets round? <ducks thrown chair> Shouldn't bullets be bullet shaped and not round? Unless they are shotgun pellets

carlsson #210 Posted September 16, 2017 I should write a short history about every BASIC language having blue background, Atari 8-bit, MSX, Oric, etc. Both the Oric-1 and Oric Atmos default to white screen with black border and black text. You're correct though about that the following systems default to some sort of blue background, with either white, light blue or yellow text: Amiga with Kickstart 1.2 - 1.3, Amstrad CPC, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64, Commodore 65, MSX 1 & 2, VTech Laser 500 The Aquarius and TI-99/4A have black text on cyan background, so I wouldn't really count them. A number of other systems like IBM PC, Apple ][, BBC Micro etc though boot with white text on black background. Other systems with black text on green background or blue/black text on white background are beyond the scope of the matter. Possibly it would seem that black background indicates an expensive business system, while blue background indicates an affordable home/games system. Of course the infamous BSOD has the lovely white text on blue background, but then again Microsoft Windows to many people is like one big video game.
