Albert
AtariAge will once again have a large booth at this year's Portland Retro Gaming Expo! This year's event takes place October 20-22, and if you can get to Portland you'll surely have a great time! We'll have many systems setup for play (we had 30 last year!) showcasing new and upcoming games. We also plan on having some new releases available for purchase for the first time in Portland. Several homebrew authors will be in attendance (including John W. Champeau, Darrell Spice, Jr., Chris Spry, and Fred Quimby), and many other retro gaming personalities will be on hand. Just curious to see some of the AtariAge members who plan on attending! ..Al
ComputerSpaceFan
Alas due to finances I'll have to skip out this year. But with luck I'll be back with a vengeance for 2018.

+johnnywc
I will be attending - can't wait! PS I am looking to book a hotel; the PRGE page has suggestions: * Hotel Eastlund * Inn at the Convention Center * Quality Inn * DoubleTree * Jupiter Hotel * Residence Inn Any recommendations? I plan on renting a car so distance isn't that much of a factor. I'm not that picky, but would prefer not staying in a complete dump. Thanks! Thanks! any of these IMO are NOT "a complete dump" Hotel Eastlund: is more high end then the others Inn at the Convention Center and Quality Inn: if you're just looking for a place to sleep DoubleTree: good place a bit higher price then others Jupiter hotel: has a much different vibe to it (more like a party house, so I'm told) Residence Inn: I don't know.. +SpiceWare
Any recommendations? I stayed at the Doubletree in 2013, was nice. This time my folks are coming along, we'll also be seeing my mom's brother who's coming down from Tacoma, and dad booked us a place via airbnb that's fairly close to the convention center. Price is much more reasonable than the hotels. I plan on renting a car Not needed unless you're planning to travel outside of the city. $5 day pass covers the trains & buses. Train will take you directly from the airport to the Doubletree (and other hotels), convention center, downtown locations, etc.
+Tarzilla
If you like to have Wifi working more than 50% of the day, say at 11:30pm when you are trying to Remote Desktop to your servers back home, don't stay at the Shilo Inn. The Crowne Plaza is nice.
+Ryan Witmer
I always show up for four or five hours on Saturday, and this year is no exception. Will sign Ratcatcher carts in exchange for pizza.

+Nezgar
Seriously considering making the trek this year, since my Atari nostalgia has returned with a vengeance this year! And what a fantastic line-up of Atari panelists... Flight logistics not so awesome though from Regina Saskatchewan, compared to back when I lived in Vancouver BC and a visit to the NWCGE in Kent Washington was just a couple hours drive south! That's when I met Joe Decuir for the first time and he gave a great presentation (on a 'classic' analog overhead projector with transparencies!
