Foxsolo2000
LOL Commies vs Speccies. I was a die hard Commie back in the 80s. Even programmed some games for it. Spectrums were laughable, and Speccies defending their machine with its crappy looking games and silly sounding bleeps even more. 'Oversized chocolate bars' we used to call them. They were a vast step up from the ZX81 though, my 1st ever computer
GratedTopping
Guy in the video said one thing that made that et better was you could float before hitting the bottom. I could have sworn you could levitate before hitting bottom on 2600 as well, its just the unexpectedness of falling in to start with, coupled with your fall speed likely took people by surprise with insufficient time to react usually. Golly gee, that's right. I learned something new about the 2600 ET. Now, will this make it more enjoyable?
Lord Thag
The Spectrum isn't THAT bad. It's library has a lot of crap for sure, because it was so popular and cheap to produce games for, but the higher quality stuff is good. I'd never played one before, and spent a week going through the library on an emulator. Games like Rex, Ant Attack, Fairlight, The Great Escape etc. were all excellent. Pretty funny there was an ET clone on it though, never even heard of that.
