Paolo #1 Posted May 22, 2003 The CD+G feature of the Jaguar always kept me interested, and this was mainly because it was nearly impossible to me to find a CD+G disk. Of course I read a lot about it, and found that, after all, it wasn't such a big deal of feature, but I always felt like I didn't use one of the capabilities of my Jag. Less then a hundred of CD+G titles seem to have been produced, available at Warner and I-can't-remember-where-else. Worst is that in Italy music dealers don't even know what are you talking about I also learnt that CD+G is the format used in Karaoke. Useless, since that kind of stuff is for professionals I was going to buy a program to make my own CD+G, when an italian toys' company comes out with a home-karaoke-machine! Nobody still knows what a CD+G is, but ALL toys shops DO have karaoke discs. All this tail to tell you that now I have a CD+G to play on my Jag It features a picture (16 colours) at the beginning of the song, and then the text of the song with the sing-along colour change. What amazes me is to see a prehistorical CD device playing a CD format that is considered NEW here Thought to share this experience. If I have the time a will snapshot afew frames (I'll use my digital camera, I'm too lazy to plug the video capture stuff)
Nukey Shay #2 Posted May 22, 2003 It's interesting, but I had a CD+G disk in my CD collection before I knew what it was (Information Society)
Video #3 Posted May 24, 2003 I only have one CD+G CD, and it's a karaole disc. All in the world it does is as it plays the songs, it puts text up on the screen to show you what your supposed to be singing. I'd imagine you could use CD+G to make vidio footage though, but I don't know. What format is VCD? I'm pretty sure there's something that would make the Jaguar read those, it may be the same thing (though I've never seen a VCD myself)

I wonder what High Voltage used for the music videos in Vid Grid.......
Paolo #8 Posted May 24, 2003 I think High Voltage used CINEPACK for those videos, as it is the CINEPACK logo printed almost everywhere... Ciao!
