jaymo
I've been hunting for a copy of Quadrun for my collection, and found this one on eBay... http://www.ebay.com/itm/QUADRUN-Atari-2600-Game-Very-Rare-Authentic-/311968497661 It claims authenticity, but the font on the cartridge label does not seem like the pics I've seen of the game. Does anyone have opinions about whether this is an original cart?
DarQ Massacres
this seems to be the actual picture for 2600 quadrun, it is also the picture used in the rarity guide on this site.
kennybrooks
I believe it is a reproduction. I have never seen another with this label.
high voltage
Repro. This is the real thing: Check out the different Quadrun font
+save2600
Yep, that's a legit repro alright! ...besides *all* of the obvious differences, you can't reproduce that silver foil label either. Not that I've seen anyway.
ubersaurus
Definitely a repro, I've seen that kind for sale on eBay before.
atari181
No doubt, another scam artist. It isn't even close.

It isn't even close to the one in the Database. The fact that you thought it was is kind of troubling. It isn't a slam against you, but what I have seen (and gone through myself). New collectors generally don't look at carts the same way as someone who has been collecting for years. Once you get taken, you become much more aware of subtle differences and are more cautious. The seller is looking for people who don't have the knowledge. He is a scumbag.

Doesn't Pboland do some Data Age repro labels that have an actual foil (or foil-looking) surface?

I know that some carts have multiple labels, and wondered if maybe this was a legit alternate, because the seller seems pretty reputable. Glad to know that it isn't! jaymo
I believe it is a reproduction. I have never seen another with this label. It's weird to me that someone would go through all the trouble to make a repro, and get something as basic as this wrong. Anyway, thanks! Anyway, thanks! I actually emailed that seller when he listed this and let him know it is a reproduction. I never heard back and it is still listed, I guess he is trying to rip buyers off. HammR25
It's not listed now
Atari_Bill
I checked out this seller when I saw this first posted. I saw several fakes / repros that were identified as real. Not a trusted seller imo
+KaeruYojimbo
It's weird to me that someone would go through all the trouble to make a repro, and get something as basic as this wrong. Anyway, thanks! I've seen quite a few fakes like this, where the label is similar to the real thing but different enough that it's pretty obviously fake if you're familiar with the original. I'm not sure why. I always kind of imagine the seller thinks he can use it as defense against charges of counterfeiting by claiming he made it look different and wasn't trying to fool anyone, even though he's clearly trying to take advantage of less knowledgeable buyers by calling the game Rare and asking such high prices.
