Atari 800XL/130XE power supply compatibility

Recommended Posts

Are the two power supplies interchangable? there is a 130XE on craigslist but it doesn't look like it has the AC.

What AC ? Only the 400 and 800 had AC voltage input....All others D.C. 5V only

Pardon my ignorance, lets just go with Power Supply. But it will work, good to know. about to post the ad in this forum here, as there are some odd things about it.

AFAIR it was C64 power supplies that used DC and AC in one unit...

Let's see the ad....

I believe this is the listing the OP is talking about, at least it's the only one with a 130XE on Rochester Craigslist.

The only power supply I see isn't for the 130XE/1050/XF551, although it may be for the 1020

The plastic bag on the lower right appears to contain a switchable Quintopus:

What about using and old smartphone power supply?. I did that and it is great because it is smaller, and have multi-volt support. I just got one Motorola old charger with enough amperes (mine is 1500mA). My original PS is 220vac and I need a transformer to use it in USA, and that added extra burden. The only part that is not that great is fitting the DIN connector, because it is not that easy to solder the pins, at least for me.
