LutzfromOz #1 Posted October 11, 2017 (edited) http://store.steampowered.com/app/529860/ColecoVision_Flashback/ for the cost of this "software" you could just pick up the colecovision flashback unit, I mean some people rag on the colecovision flashback console, I enjoyed it for the sheer factor of getting mecha 8, the overlays, and 2 controllers I can use on my pc via my visiondapter usb dongle. anyways back to the point of this emulator and roms available on steam for $20 which is a bit over $35 Australian dollars.... WOW... I wondered who would buy this, and I scrolled down to the user comments... and yeah il let that do the talking, and look I have no problem with I.P holders making money off their games 30 years later or if some homebrewers included their game in the package to get a royalty, but its gotta be executed better than this.. Flojomojo #2 Posted October 11, 2017 I got it for free, bundled with a half-price Atari Vault and the Intellivision collection directly from AtGames's download site. They provided Steam keys for the Atari and ColecoVision stuff. So there's one person who paid, albeit not full price. It's not a good software package. It runs in a small low-res window and controller mapping isn't great. Maybe it will be updated. The emulation is more accurate than the ColecoVision Flashback, which runs slowly, but without the vintage controls it's not quite as much of a nostalgia trip. The nicest thing I can say about this package is that it's a reasonably friendly way to feel like you're buying a license to use the ROMs in a better emulator. pacman000 #3 Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) Is this better than Telegames old Personal Arcade/Classic gamer packs? http://telegames.com/cgamer.htm http://telegames.com/pa.htm You can actually download a trial version of Personal Arcade for free: http://telegames.com/download.htm (EDIT: I just tried the download; it no longer works ) More importantly, is Telegames still in business selling these? They haven't updated their FaceBook page in years, the search engine on their website no longer works, and they never answered my email, telling them that their search engine's broken. It does look like AtGame's collection has a few different games (Wing War instead of Alcazar; I'd like to try both.) Flojomojo #4 Posted November 10, 2017 It's similar to that earlier offering. Not great.
mr_me #5 Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) That trial download actually works; at least it does on WIdows 7-64b. Only Pitfall is included with the trial and it's either limited by time or runs or something. [sorry my mistake.. I have that file but I must have gotten it from the waybackmachine or something] https://web.archive.org/web/20101130053421/http://telegames.com:80/pa.htm Why bother with this stuff. Does Telegames still have rights to these games; maybe they do. Edited November 10, 2017 by mr_me
