Nintendo Penguin #1 Posted May 23, 2003 Thats right all. Last week I was seriously considering buying an Xbox for one game. CodeMasters is making an INDY Car series game for the Xbox. What is so special about that? Well, I have been wainting for an Indy game for a long time, and USAC actually licensed the Indy 500 to be in the Codemasters game. I was excited when I heard this, but pissed-off because the dude at GameStop said it was Xbox exclusive. Since the Xbox price just dropped, I almost bought one. I took another look at the codemasters site, and the game is coming out for the PC as well.... THANK GOD! This just proves once again, there is nothing out that I want for PS2 or Xbox that I can't get on the PC. Glad I own a Cube.
VidGameKing #2 Posted May 23, 2003 there is nothing wrong with buying an XBOX, just aslong as you dont say that it's better or worse than any of your other next gen systems.
NE146 #3 Posted May 23, 2003 Yeah.. would you have been saying the same thing back in the day when the 2600 came out? or the 5200? or the Colecovision? It's all good man. It's just videogames.. And they all were the latest and greatest at some point
VidGameKing #4 Posted May 23, 2003 but if I remeber correctly Donkey Kong for the Colecovision was by far graphically better than the same game on the 2600. just wanted to inject that.

bargora #6 Posted May 23, 2003 VintageGamer, you cannot get Steel Battalion on the PC. And without giant robots with guns, I'm sorry to say, your life is a meaningless empty husk.

Yes a fellow VT pilot speaks out on the virtues of Gigantic Mech combat.
PuddWakkr #8 Posted May 23, 2003 I must be filthy for owning 2 Xbox's if you felt dirty for almost buying one. I think i'll change my name to "pigpen".
Raijin Z #9 Posted May 23, 2003 It's okay to pay for an XBox, as long as you steal a copy of that prototype Windows XP successor floating around the net. Just to balance it out. Word to the wise, though. Do NOT mod an XB you plan on using XBL with.

Just don't leave your switch in the wrong position when connecting

PuddWakkr #12 Posted May 23, 2003 I play on Live all the time with my modded box. I'm kinda worried when that new XBL 2.0 comes out it might screw me. I believe it will connect with Live everytime you start upyour Xbox. I'm sure there will be a way around it. I guess I could use my unmodded box for more than a DVD player if I have to.
