Midway Table Tennis Wall Game Help!

TPR

Recommended Posts

I've recently picked up a Midway Table Tennis electromagnetic wall game and I'm having some trouble with it. Watch the video below. It's only about 1 minute long and it explains the issues I'm having. Basically it fires up, I can drop credits in and start the game, but then nothing happens after that. Any suggestions or help you could give would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Without specific information for this - you're going to have to fall back on general troubleshooting techniques.

Looking for stuck solenoids and armatures, relay contacts that aren't clean and crisp acting, loose wires connections, open solenoid coils, levers that aren't moving far enough or touching what they're supposed to touch, detect switches not detecting whatever it is they're supposed to detect, and sliding contacts that are dirty or worn or not positioned right. Or just plain old loose wire terminals.

Probably start at the relay you pointed out, and the non-working light. What do they connect to? Where does their power come from? Where does it go? A simple DMM and/or continuity check light might be all you'll need. But leave nothing to chance and examine all the connections in detail. Trace it through.

Without a schematic, flowchart, or explicit expertise on this machine, that's what you'll need to do. Maybe KLOV-VAPS can help?

Yeah, that's exactly what I've been doing. Basically trial & error cleaning almost everything. I've posted this to KLOV as well and I am crossing my fingers someone else may have had a similar issue with one of these and can just go "OH! That's this thing here... try this and it should work!"

Hoping... :)
