Heavy Sixer Serial Number Thread

For some reason the "edit" tab is missing from the post with the list on it so I'm unable to update it. The tab is on my posts for this page, is there a time limit to how long you can edit old posts?

Not sure about that, but you could always cut and paste into a new post. Otherwise, you could try contacting Admin -- they might be able to access posts and fix any editing problems... Something to do with the recent reno, perhaps?

I've got an Atari heavy 6-er...

Serial

67260G

:woozy: ;-)

Wouldnt it be cool if you just bought a 2600, brought it home, typed the serial into a webpage, and you could see all the owners it has been through?

Hah, I had forgotten all about that list at http://www.netmodem.com/claddagh/stellasboneyard.htm. I must have submitted my serial number to him years ago, because I'm on that list. :)

S/N 28921H (heavy sixer)

Steve Engelhardt St. Louis, Missouri

943001[/snapback]

Yes, I'm actually working on an update of that for over at Atari HQ. Also putting that together for Pong systems, 5200 and 7800.

I cant find that, where is the link????

At the very least this list seems to back up the genuine PAL Heavy Sixers with the close serial numbers, good work.

'Good work' would be finding a cheap one for me! Every one i see seems to be a US model that has had its internals switched...

Mine serial number is: 79184F. The springs that return the game select and the game reset switches gave out on it. I wonder how to repair it... Anyone know how to fix those?

I haven't done this myself yet, but I've seen it posted that some of the switches in heavy sixers have springs that can pop out of position. I believe this happens when someone lets the switch "snap" back instead of releasing it gently in the normal way. The springs can be put back in place without removing the switches from the board or disassembling them, but you have to know how the springs are supposed to go. If you can, and assuming that the springs are still present and not broken, I would recommend that you unsolder one of the switches and examine it to see how the spring is supposed to be installed, then figure out how to fix the other one while it's still on the board.

Got a Regular Atari Heavy Sixer today. Picked it up for $10 even tho it wouldn't power up. Turns out to be a faulty powersupply.

Sunnyvale, CA

Serial Number: 15464K

Channel Select Hole Present

No Channel Select Switch

Top Board: Rev 5

Bottom Board: Rev B

Odd thing about the power jack...is that there was none. The Power Supply was soldered directly to the Bottom Board.

Got another one to add. Needed a new 7805, Rf cable, and RF choke.

Regular Atari Heavy Sixer

Serial Number: 42137H

Channel Select Hole Not Present

No Channel Select Switch

Top Board: Rev 5

Bottom Board: Rev 8

On my previous Heavy Sixer 15464K the bottom board reads Rev B not Rev 8. I miss read it. Edited my post above to correct it.
