I have a CIB beautiful Sears Heavy Sixer with matching PS, paddles and CX40 sticks (unsure if they were packed with CX10's or CX40's). This one I've got up on eBay - it's beautiful but I already have two player consoles and don't really need another. That one is 79351T. The second one I just purchased in a bundle. It's currently filthy and not functioning. I believe the voltage regulator is shot and needs some general maintenance but should be able to get it up and running shortly. Opened the F series above to clean out the inside and liberate a tingle, and the shield has this paper taped to it. Does anyone know it's meaning? However, there's *enough* to see what the serial might have been. Here are some pictures:Owwww. The numbers I can make out are: 7?95?S (7?954S) ? (7?951S) ? Also (7?955S) or screw it (7?957S) I have no idea what this is, but it seems important. So here it is.187319 ? This hasn't seen light in over 30 years. Here's what's interesting: No Channel select switch, or hole. This seems to line up with others with serial numbers similar to this. Ohh, I need to clean this up somehow. There's a number here: CA010410 273S7732If there are any more pictures you all need, I can provide them. Seems to be a well-made unit, and I've cleaned the case (save for the bottom) and it looks as good as new (save for the switches having some dull metal). When Atari First Released their Atari pong units they were released under Tele game and sold by Sears. Then later the name was just Atari pong, I have one with the serial number A60186 Tele games Atari pong sold under sears Ok now look at a Atari Pong Serial number 26789 D Now Atari did not want to over cross Serial number when the Atari 2600 or known as the VCS at first. So if you have a Heavy Sixer with a Serial number ending with the letter D at the end. This would be the earliest one to be found. Most have an E after the serial number on the early units we have seen, Take a look at those Early Sears heavy Sixer units because Atari could have released them under Sears before Using their name. Still all Sears sold Tele game units still have the name Atari on the label. Lets see if we can find the oldest VCS heavy sixer and it could have been sold under Sears First. I did some poking around, resoldered a couple dry joints around the power connector, and regulator (the last was a bit messy), but it works.The motherboard says copyright 1977 though the IC's had 7743, 7748, 7801, 7802 markings, so Im assuming early 1978 at best? Its "rev 8 cc010433"Bit confused as I thought heavy sixers were 1977 only.The engraved 449 is a bit odd as well.At any rate, seems to work fine! I've now cleaned it up both inside and out, and replaced the old RF cable as the end had been torn off or something and wired poorly to an old-style coax adaptor (the double U clip type). The serial number is 47211J The circuit board has the Atari Logo and Innovative Leisure underneath. The only thing that seems off from the Heavy vs. Light Sixer thread is that the circuit board has the number 3010462, underneath says Rev 5. That said it has the external heat sink below the power switch, and horizontal RF connector. I am - assuming - it's probably the first half of 1978 due to the serial number?
