Educational system cart variant

Here's a new one for me and wanted to share incase someone might have more info about it. I bought this cart tonight and it's missing text off the label. I've been collecting 20 or so years and even with aGoogle image search the only photo of it is the one I bought. Does anyone here have another example of this variant I can see? I'm waiting for board and metal back pictures but I'm wondering if this is an early batch or maybe something for promotional use like my life (later to be video easel) cart. Caught my eye and I saw it was not right so I took a gamble on it. Maybe someone here can weigh in on it.

 

Maybe it's just an unusual label variant maybe something more. But took a risk and if nothing else a variant for my collection.

just a different label as it became a pain with mix ups.. identifying as the master cartridge made things easier

First time ever seeing one without the master cartridge text. I've seen 1979 date back plates with the change in the label. I guess this is a very early release run then?

seen them both ways many times... a number of schools had them, along with the learn a language tapes and such... you may find sticky tacky glue residue where a label added by the school says master cartridge or the schools name on it etc.

Hmm.. learned something new. I've seen the Dorset stickers added over the cxl part number when Dorset first started releasing this cart. Then they made their own labels. Kinda now makes me wonder just how many variants there are to this title. I'm up to 3 now.

I always laughed about the "STAR RAIDER" cartridge... did someone in production goof and forget the 'S' ?? Saw one with that spelling at PRGE2017, was tempted to buy it just for the label variant, but the game itself MUST say 'STAR RAIDERS' still?

 

For the record, here's my Educational System cart:

My "master cartridge" has a 1979 date on it. Looking forward to cart inspection on this one and seeing what I can learn if anything. See if this was before they added master cartridge or after it before Dorset took over

Well, recently, I have posted, that there was an Atari Assembler Editor cartridge, we call now: Rev. A and B. They are different, of course:

Therefore, I suggest, making a cart dump and posting here, would be the best. We then can do a binary compare, to find out, what is different.

I'll see what I can do. I don't have the stuff to dump at the moment. I'll be willing to send this off to get dumped. And the community can study the dumppedal rom.

Allan we definitely have to. I need to stop procrastinating and do a meet up in december. Ill bring my carts and disks that need dumping and see what people can use for the community. I'll send you a message.
