Jamcat Reloaded
Since the Sega Genesis Flashback HD and Atari Flashback HD 8 Gold / Activision are basically the same hardware, using a basic Android system, and having a internal accessible USB port, someone should make a "Hackchi" style program to hack these systems. If it can be done for the NES/SNES Mini, why not for the Flashback systems.
Bebop
Someone will figure it out. It will be running retroarch in no time.
jkgamer
I've posted instructions on how to add your own ROMs for the Sega Genesis Flashback HD at http://atariage.com/forums/topic/266499-new-genesis-flashback/page-13?do=findComment&comment=3895318. Unfortunately, while the Atari Flashback HD uses the same OS/chipset, I think the internal boards have a different layout and I couldn't find an internal USB port in the FCC images of the boards. (Although, it did look like there were solder points that could be used, but I wasn't sure.) If someone has the Atari Flashback 8 HD Gold and has opened it up, maybe they could tell us if it has an internal USB connector. I suspect if it does, you could pretty much use the instructions that I posted for the Sega version, just with Atari specifics in mind.
