Zeus #1 Posted May 25, 2003 I was at my favourite videogaming store recently and saw the strangest thing. A fellow of East Indian origin was trading in a really strange console. Since I have no pictures I will try to describe it to you. First, it was a cream colour, with maroon trim. It was very small, probably about the size of a NES toploader. It was a PAL system and I think it had "Family Fun System" written on it. It looked like it could fit NES carts, but when an employee tried to insert one, it did not fit. It looks like the chip would be slightly smaller than that of an NES, however its controllers look remarkably like that of a Nintendo. The weirdest thing is that it required an external transformer to even work, leading me to believe that it only worked on some other type of electric current. (I'm no expert on this field.) I know I have no pictures, but I find this to be highly intruiging, so if anyone has a clue what it might be, I'd be interested. Thanks

The Family Computer System, or Famicom, says "Family Computer" on the console. If it does say "Family Fun System" on it like Zeus posted, then it might be a pirated Famicom clone. Lost Monkey #4 Posted May 26, 2003 It is probably a Famicon clone. They come in all shapes and sizes... I have one in a PSOne case, one in a PSX case, one in a Dreamcast controller and one in a light gun... The item the unit was plugged into was probably a step down converter, I have one of these for my Japanese SFC..
