Adding games to super retro cade

Hey guys I was trying to add some arcade games to my super retro cade. Admittedly Im not the most tech savvy on this board I dont mess around with emulation much I downloaded a few ROMs of classic arcade games to my wifes Apple laptop then put them on an SD card in a folder titled retrobit games. When I put my SD card in the retro cade I would get the game title but none of the games from the SD card would play. What am I doing wrong? Can someone give me a good site for arcade ROMs? Do I need to use a PC and not an Apple though I cant imagine that would matter.
