Space Invaders 7800 and AV mod

I recently got Space Invaders and Crystal Quest, which are both awesome. I have only been able to play Space Invaders with an unmodded 7800 (RF unit style). On my modded system it only displays a strange artifact. I wondered if it any 320 mode game would do that, but Tower Toppler works fine.

Has anyone else tried Space Invaders on an AV modded system? I know there are different types. Does anyone know if there is a specific kind I should get? I would buy an HDMI modded system too if those were an option.

Works fine on my simple 1 transistor/2 resistor A/V modded 7800.

 

Guess I'd check to be sure your cartridge port is super clean. Maybe try inserting Space Invaders all the way, then pull slightly out, in case something's not seating just right before powering on.

I also have an AV modded 7800 that plays Space Invaders with no problem. I guess double-check your solder points??

OK. I tried that. I did get it to work twice out of like 20 tries. It's so nice and clear. It might be that this console is just off a bit idk. I haven't had to do it on the unmodded unit, but at the same time, all my other games work. I might just get another 7800 that I can play on a modern TV anyway.

It's an awesome game.
