Mayhem #305 Posted April 4, 2018 paid long ago but cannot find my paypal payment. Anyone know the paypal account it would have been to? year? Don't think it was Paypal, it was straight charged to my credit card by the looks of it. Have a search for emails from [email protected] .
+HammR25 #306 Posted April 4, 2018 Yep, Curt didn't use PayPal for XM payments because PayPal has screwed him out of a lot of money.
Andromeda Stardust #307 Posted April 5, 2018 Cretid card transactions generally only go back six months online, or a year if you call the bank. So unless you saved your bank statements from eight years ago, it's probably gone.
Dauber #308 Posted April 5, 2018 Chase keeps 'em forever. Thank God -- my e-mail confirmation for the order disappeared (not even in my backups), and the only proof I have is my credit card statement. :/
Shinju #309 Posted April 5, 2018 (edited) This is awesome Curt! So excited, I was one of the last to get in on this back in 2013 when you put the last 10 on a Amazon link on the XM Build page!Got my order number ready when its needed! So glad I stuck with this project and didn't cancel the pre-order, even it if never did end up releasing the 100 buy in for the chance to see something cool for the 7800 like this would have been worth it regardless development costs money and you defiantly earned it and more , heh to be honest I forgot/spaced a couple times until PRGE came around and Albert had one on display at the AA booth and I remembered... OH YEAH this cool thing! -j Edited April 5, 2018 by Shinju

Metal Ghost #314 Posted April 21, 2018 Wasn't there going to be a website to re-add order info? Do we post here instead now? Send directly to the other Curt? Still very excited.... Thanks for all the hard work guys! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
Tidus79001 #315 Posted April 21, 2018 Curt said he had everyone's original order info. Mitch Curt might have the original order info, but there are several people including myself who have bought a pre-order from someone who originally placed the pre-order. Also in the years since the pre-orders were first made many people have moved. This means that for some amount of the pre-orders the information that Curt has is going to be out of date. Wasn't there going to be a website to re-add order info? Do we post here instead now? Send directly to the other Curt? Still very excited.... Thanks for all the hard work guys! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk I emailed Curt during the latter part of last year, and he said that there eventually will be a website set up where people can input & update their pre-order details.
+mytek #316 Posted April 29, 2018 I was thinking since the 7800XM incorporates an XEGS keyboard jack, that the following might be of interest... I just got done developing a new TK-II-GS PS/2 to Pokey keyboard adapter aimed at the XEGS, but it should also work with the XM. This new version is extremely small and compact. It's available in a DIY form at: Transkeys but I would imagine there might be people willing to build, and perhaps sell these for the less skilled. Since this is Creative Commons project, anyone can feel free to do this, including Curt.
Jinks #317 Posted April 30, 2018 Could you plug a usb to ps2 keyboard adapter in that adapter and then use a regular computer keyboard? This remind me of 8 track to cassette to cd adapter.
+mytek #318 Posted April 30, 2018 Could you plug a usb to ps2 keyboard adapter in that adapter and then use a regular computer keyboard? This remind me of 8 track to cassette to cd adapter. Only older USB keyboards that observed the PS/2 protocol (or sometimes called dual protocol) will work with a 'passive' style adapter in this way. With newer USB stuff, including wireless you would need an active converter with some built-in smarts (this can get pricey). Basically if the USB keyboard came with a purple colored PS/2 adapter you're good to go. And unless you absolutely need USB compatibility, I would suggest going to eBay where you'll find a plenitude of NOS PS/2 keyboards to choose from (eBay PS/2 keyboard link).

If I ever get an XEGS, first thing I'm buying is an Atarimax sd cart, then one of these in case Ican't find a real xe keyboard. Question, a lot of keyboards and mice used to come with PS2 / USB converters. Will these adapters work on most usb keyboards?

+mytek #323 Posted April 30, 2018 Yep Thrift stores are my go to for PS/2 keyboards. I can usually get them for $3-4, and sometimes as little as $2. What you are looking for is a keyboard that has a purple round mini-din plug. $50 sounds a bit pricey, but if it's really nice and still factory packed in the original box, that's probably good. Even better if it has clickety keys like an early IBM Model M or a good Keytronics or Cherry. BTW, anyone know if someone is working on a Basic or Assembler that'll run on a 7800 that can utilize the keyboard? Anything in the works?

The XM is not in the hands of the masses as of yet as that is pretty much the only device that can do what you are asking (that I know of). It's been a very, VERY long road so very few have had access to write anything to use the keyboard out even if they wanted to.

Yeah I kinda figured that would be the case, but hopefully now that XM is getting close to showtime and into people's hands stuff will start to happen in this direction. I wonder if any of the stuff GCC was working on for their joystick keyboard is still around and/or able to be converted to work with the Pokey interfaced keyboard?
