Recommended Posts

I'm glad to see your back too Steve, you're a good coder and I hope to see your work shine in some XM capable games in the future.

Curt! Great stuff all around! Ive just recently started popping back in. Is your website going to have a change of address form? Mine changed by one digit! I also dont have the email I used back then, but I still know it if you need it for verification.

Those boards are looking pretty! I am so glad youre back!

Yes, the Ataribox is (was? - not happening it seems...) going to be this, just buy one now and tape an Atari logo to it - viola! Ataribox!

and for only $39 bucks versus $250-$300 for an Ataribox...

I hear ya bud... my neighbors little children were suffering horribly for nearly 2 years, sick little things, finally they found they had severe gluten allergies... they are now on proper diets and all well, strong and healthy, but it is a scary thing and the fact that its only now finally been identifiable and diagnosed is a good thing for so many who have been confused and frustrated by an ailment that they didn't understand.

The struggle is real. My daughter suffers from that. And she has it without Celiac. We had to have her biopsied from her GI tract back when she was 2. I'm so happy so many people have made gluten-free trend a popular fad because all of the new products out there is helping those with the real health issue.

But back to all things Atari...

Our chior director has celiac. She suffered silently for years before being properly diagnosed. Restaurant dining is still a gamble for her though.

Lactose free milk and gluten free bread are great for those who have legitamate digestive disorders, but there's absolutely no reason for the vast majority of healthy folks to avoid these ingredients. I just think gluten free and lactose free and other fad diets aren't necessary for folks not suffering from specific disorders.

Now enough of this dietary nonsense. Back to XM talk... ;-)

LOL! It has been a while! Just in case... I’m Vic! No Steve better take my XM, but if he’s ahead of me in line, I’ll take his! . I’m hoping some of my graphics get put to good use on the XM at some point! Speaking of which... back to Pyxel Edit. I thought I’d never find a good tool for Mac!

Hello, where are the pics? The captain said no.

I'm very excited as well to see this final retail version of the XM come to life. It almost doesn't seem real that this is finally gonna ship.

First stage is getting all of the caps and the reset to the PLD socket done, those are complete. USB connector for power (ONLY) installed to give board power with JTAG connector plugged in. Done... So now I'll burn the PLD and then install the 245 and its cap, the burn the PLCC for the BIOS and install it and its cap and lastly finish the power up reset circuit by the 123 and then the unit is ready for stage one testing with a 2600 then 7800 cart installed. If all good, time to install the Dallas nVRAM and cap and see if the high score works, the the SRAM and keep moving from there until all testing from the BIOS testing selections (when no cartridge is installed the BIOS menu comes up with settings and system function tests)

So thats it for now, gotta finish up work for work (to pay the biils ;-) and will continue tomorrow...

I just got diagnosed with a defect in my heart which is apparently genetic - and which went undiagnosed for close to 38 years.

I found out I had heart arrhythmia in my mid 20's. Deal with it and don't let it run your life. That is what works for me anyhow. Is a heart attack gonna get me in the end like 80 percent of the men in my family? Probably. But until then? Party on Wayne. Party on Garth. XM's are actually coming and that didn't give me a heart attack so... :P (to bring it back on topic and all)

I only mentioned the heart problem as a way I could relate with the situation Curt described about his neighbors with the gluten insensitivity.

I've gotten by 38 years with this defect, I'll prolly get by many more. For me, learning about it served to offer a closure as to why I had the problems I did growing up.

See I've always been very active with sports, ect. and never really knew there was a problem with my heart until it was picked up by my doctor during other tests. Hereditary conditions I was of course aware of but didn't find out for sure it was in the cards for me until I was an adult. For years I assumed it was just a kick of the asthma that gave me a hard time me when I was a kid. Sure wasn't...lol.. We are in the same age group so I get where you are coming from.
