pacman000 #1 Posted January 12, 2018 http://www.old-computers.com/museum/computer.asp?c=906&st=2 Looked up the MPU 2000 and found this: "But according to the excellent research work from Dale Hansen, the 1292 Advanced Programmable Video System from Radofin would be the first member of the line as it was released in 1976! Radofin then licenced its system wordlwide to different companies." My question: where does that put the Studio II? Wasn't it released in 77?

carlsson #3 Posted January 13, 2018 I think it has been confirmed that the 1976 dating of the 1292 and VC-4000 is bogus or a misunderstanding as those systems didn't really show up until a couple of years later. Since this thread is posted in Classic Computing rather than Classic Gaming, I would suppose the question which is the first programmable computer that had any games. While mainframes etc already in the late 50's and early 60's featured games, I suppose one would look into the early 70's for a somewhat accessible hobbyist computer. Once we get to 1975 and later, it started to be somewhat common.
