Could you pull one from a famicom? Might be cheaper.

yea I could, not a big fan of killing one machine to fix another

 

I am kind of surprised at the sheer lack of ppu's available on the market though, I can find arcade ones all day if I want to spend 100 bucks on a kinda junky nes heh

Unfortunately to get a PPU you pretty much have to kill a 'good' system, you may as well consider them on the same tier of value as an intact NES or Famicom.

I believe I have a spare junk system still I could pull one from. Since the system is a parts unit It is untested. I can look later on and if I have one pull it for you. Just shoot me some s/h charges. I could pull it out clean and quickly, w/my hakko so that's not a problem.
