fiddlepaddle #1 Posted January 18, 2018 Not specifically game related, but I thought it was interesting: Punk rock musician arrested for alleged $27M real estate scamMichael Davenport, ex-bassist for punk-pop band 'The Ataris,' has been accused of scamming 100,000 people by Marian McPherson Staff Writer Today 4:02 P.M https://www.inman.com/2018/01/17/punk-rock-musician-arrested-for-alleged-27m-real-estate-scam/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+reindustrynews+%28Inman+News+Industry+News%
fiddlepaddle #2 Posted February 12, 2018 (edited) Read about "zero views" in forum if nobody responds, so I thought I'd respond and see what happens... edit: 156 views, but nobody cares... Edited February 12, 2018 by fiddlepaddle
TPA5 #3 Posted February 13, 2018 Besides the fact they called themselves 'The Ataris', I fail to see the connection to video games. That would likely be the reason for no replies.
Video #4 Posted February 14, 2018 I would suggest general forums rather than games. Won't guarantee replies though.

fiddlepaddle #6 Posted February 14, 2018 Well, it doesn't really matter if no one cares; I was just surprised that no one even viewed it. At least until I learned that the forums show zero views until someone actually responds. Once I learned that, I decided to responded to it myself so I could see how many people had even been curious enough to read it. The only connection (I've read), is the band name was inspired by/in honor of the game console. It came up in a previous thread a couple of years ago about game-related bands, or maybe band-related games (possibly this forum?).
pacman000 #7 Posted February 14, 2018 Interesting article. He allegedly put ads on Craig's List offering houses he didn't own for sale, allegedly claiming they'd be foreclosed on soon. "reps would spend the majority of their time calming angry homeowners who wondered why their homes were listed...or explaining to consumers why the listing they wanted to purchase wasnt actually for sale." toptenmaterial #9 Posted February 19, 2018 Interesting article. He allegedly put ads on Craig's List offering houses he didn't own for sale, allegedly claiming they'd be foreclosed on soon. "reps would spend the majority of their time calming angry homeowners who wondered why their homes were listed...or explaining to consumers why the listing they wanted to purchase wasnt actually for sale." What I'm surprised at is that it took seven years for him to get pinched. You would think that the people he ripped off for $199 a piece would be pissed. It's a dumb scam anyhow and being caught is inevitable. He's going to serve double digits. His band sucked by the way.
