How do you swap the handles and what are those black rings for?

The handles slide off of the top. The rings are for switching between 4 way or 8 way control.

Just got mine today. How do you get the handle off?

I have one and the handle just slides off when you pull upward. I'm not sure how complete mine is, but it was pretty easy to get the handle off.

 

I have a box for it, but I don't believe I have those 4 way rings. I'll have to take a look at that again now.

The bat handle won't come off and one of the screws is overscrewed and won't let me get into the bottom of it to look for a release switch.

Two people and a video have told/showed you that it slides off. There is no release.

 

Get some WD40 in a dropper and hold it upside down while you try and turn it clockwise. Put very tiny drops of WD40 between the plastic and shaft while you turn it. It WILL come off.
