+OLD CS1 #2 Posted January 24, 2018 Yeah, my guess is to adjust drive speed. Any idea to what that potentiometer is connected?
discgolfer72 #3 Posted January 24, 2018 (edited) Yeah, my guess is to adjust drive speed. Any idea to what that potentiometer is connected? hmmm interesting any info on that RAMBOard by chip level designs 1988 didn't probe any further but the wire goes under the drive and looks like it does go to the drive motor hmmm even more interesting http://d81.de/CLD-RAMBOard/History.shtml EDIT also looks like the cooling unit is actually the sidecar cooler from a apple //e Edited January 24, 2018 by discgolfer72
Zippy Zapp #4 Posted January 26, 2018 Several of the disk copiers then relied on a certain drive speed to copy specific titles. SuperCard needed a specific speed as did others that supported RAMBoard. Maverick came with a flyer that you could order a drive speed controller that looked exactly like that. Quite handy if you were duplicating some hard to copy disks.
