Does anyone have a source for new disc inlays?

I do not. But what holds the circle on?

The disc itself is a plastic disc that would likely be a decent candidate for 3D printing, but the original disc typically holds up pretty well. The gold plate that is glued onto it is ~1mm × 34mm and sometimes falls off, gets peeled off, or degrades. They're trying to find a replacement for the gold disc, preferably more true to the original vs merely functional. Here's a few pics:

The disc is made of very thin brass pot metal with a plastic/clear vinyl covering for protection, similar to house stereo and car radio dials from the same era. Quite possible a car restoration or automotive interior remanufacting company might be able to help or give advice on how to make new ones. My guess is these came in a sheet, were die cut individually, spun with a brush for the effect, then sprayed with clear and adhesive.

Considering there is a ton of money being made in old cars and restoration of old toys and such, there has to be someone out there making these.

Problem is cost to produce.
