Requesting document design input from fellow Lotharek HxC owners.

Recommended Posts

The HxC can hold a ton of disk images, but I've found that can be an issue. Over time, so much stuff can be put on it that things can be misplaced by the user. What I have in mind is a document form that one can stick in a small binder to help keep track of everything. To that end I'd like design input from the people who will eventually download and possibly use it.

What information/fields would you like on each page? Would you like a header on each page too? If so what information would you like on it? Should each page hold multiple entries or be confined to a single disk image?

I admit things are a bit confusing at times with the filenames, especially trying to scroll through a large list. It also seems the files on the SD card are not sorted alphabetical.

I did this past weekend create a subfolder and moved a bunch of stuff under it. Not sure it really solved anything, but it did show the subdirectory. I just did not select it to see if it would pull up files in the subdirectory.

Myself, and I am being honest here, I would not use the form as the HxC is merely a transition to get something from MESS/MAME over to the Geneve system so I can put it on a hard drive or vice versa since Michael has indicated MAME supports HFE images.

If directory support with the HxC is allowed as I have not tested that capability yet, then I would suggest the form have subdirectory titles where maybe the names of the HFE images are stored are listed under the directory title. Also, if there is a specific program used (TELCO (EA5), MGR1 (EA5), LOAD (EXB), etc) to launch the disk, there is a field in the form with the indication of the EA/EXB/etc program to launch and use.
