SignGuy81 #1 Posted February 4, 2018 Am I asking too much for this? http://atariage.com/forums/topic/274951-fs-gamecube-w-6-games-and-controllerprice-drop/ If so how much should I be asking for it? Thank you

SignGuy81 #3 Posted February 4, 2018 No, that is this
AtariBrian #4 Posted February 4, 2018 Yes you are asking way to much . A person would pay about 60 up to 75 or so for all of that in person . And they would have to be wanting all of those exact games by chance . So if someone wanted those exact games and system you would have to sell around 65 or 75 shipped .

Punisher5.0 #6 Posted February 4, 2018 I agree with AtariBrian on the price. The GameCube still doesn't go for much money. Is this the early model with the Digital out port? That would be a plus
eightbit #7 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) I always look for the digital port on Gamecubes in the wild. If it doesn't have it I pass. But even then, these do not go for much. I passed on one at Goodwill last week that also had the gamecube player attached for $29.99 total...but no digital port. It didn't have the damn Gameboy startup disk so I left it. I picked up a Gamecube with multiple controllers, all hookups and something like 30 games for $50 last year at a yard sale. I sold it and made $150 I think. It's sad since the system is actually very good. Edited February 4, 2018 by eightbit
icemanxp300 #8 Posted February 4, 2018 Well to be honest I would sell that system locally for $30 and be happy. Those aftermarket controllers, nobody wants them. You can go online and get a Gamecube for $50 shipped w/ an official controller that is worth half the cost. I would say that lot isn't worth more than $65 shipped personally. Most those games are $5 shipped. People expect shipping savings on lots.
ls650 #9 Posted February 4, 2018 Gamecubes are both cheap and common around here. I think I could pick up a working one with a controller, power, and AV for maybe $30-$40.
Tanooki #10 Posted February 4, 2018 Look you have a system that isn't worth a huge amount, and then you have 6 games of which 5 of them would be $5 sells that may go the first ebay push or a few down the line as there's so many, and Sonic is barely worth more than that. You have a crap gamestop controller no one wants so that deducts value off the console. Also for some a selling point is that one early enough for the digital port? Personally I wouldn't even dare on a private forum ask at best more than 40 for that, and 50 on ebay due to fees. I just didn't want to thread crap your post, but that one was ridiculous as was your NES listing too and still is at $70 given you have just the system, the wrong cart (no power pad), just one controller and a ghetto chinese garbage AC adapter. That should be dropped as well to the same as the Gamecube really.
cybercylon #11 Posted February 4, 2018 On top of that, you can get a cheap GC compatible Wii, controllers, memory card for maybe around that and use component cables that are a dime a dozen.
SignGuy81 #12 Posted February 4, 2018 (edited) Yes it has the digital A/V port. It did come with an original working controller, but due to the following I've decided not to include it with the sale. As far as the NES it will stay at $70 whether it sells or not. The cost of the console, time reparing the console, the cost of parts/accessories, time cleaning the console, I'm not going to give it away and I believe it is reasonably priced I've sold them for more. The console was almost $30 non-working. I had to replace the bridge diodes in the RF box, had to epoxy a broken piece in the case, boiled and cleaned the 72 pin connector, repaired both the non-working zapper and controller that came with it, about $10 for a game and then about the same for the power adapter(which works fine by the way) so yeah it will stay at $70. You over paid, especially w/no power. On a side note if you need Mario/duckhunts I can totally beat $10 each and I have a stack of them.

Cool can you sell me some then next time I need to include one with a console. EDIT: It came with a Zapper(non working), NES gamepad(non working), and a Sega Genesis controlelr(non-working) all for $26.99. I'd like to see where people are finding these things so cheap now a days, especially seeing all the threads about not finding anything anymore in thrift stores. EDIT: I also beat $10 for the game cart that is why I said about $10. Edited February 4, 2018 by SignGuy81
icemanxp300 #15 Posted February 4, 2018 I'd like to see where people are finding these things so cheap now a days, especially seeing all the threads about not finding anything anymore in thrift stores. Well I'm finding them in bins I have had stored for 7-10 years lol. Occasionally I will find them on craigslist and such but I don't pay more than $20 for a unit w/ a controller and power. Don't even waste your time on zappers either. Most people can't use the damn things and don't want to pay anything for them. Most of the time I get a Nintendo w/like 20 games or so for $50. The stuff has dried up but luckily most of the people who are just trying to turn a quick buck have realized they have no damn clue about prices and they are loosing money and have stepped back some. Then when a real deal comes along I can scoop it up since they lost their ass on the last lot of common games.

icemanxp300 #17 Posted February 4, 2018 I sell Mario/duckhunt all the time w/no zapper. They made a billion of them. I even sell the Mario/duckhunt/trackmeet. People will not pay for a zapper or a pad in general. You just toss it in so they can play Mario. Mario is all people care about. It doesn't matter what cart or combo cart they pull Mario from. fiddlepaddle #23 Posted February 5, 2018 Your prices are high, even now. Even so, you might be able to get that (and I hope you can) because someone decided they just want it. However, remember that the money and effort you put in to it has absolutely zero impact on what someone wants to pay. To increase your chances of getting a better price, you can put more time and energy into marketing your products to expose your opportunity to more people, or maybe to some group of people who are less sensitive to price...there ARE people like that out there, but not very many on this site. Or throw in something unique or rare. Or wait longer. Or go door to door looking for someone who wants it. Or take it to a game show. Or trade it for something you want that somebody else no longer wants. If you spend Ten thou replacing the driveway on a house, it doesn't make the house worth any more than the identical house down the street that had a good driveway to start with. SignGuy81 #24 Posted February 5, 2018 (edited) However, remember that the money and effort you put in to it has absolutely zero impact on what someone wants to pay. I agree about the Gamecube I was asking too much and probably so even after dropping the price but the NES is priced right for the condition it is in, not just the money and effort I put into. I didn't even ask about the NES. If someone wants to pay $50 - $65 for a yellow stained chipped corner NES they can go on ebay and get them one. Mine is priced right it will eventually sell. Edited February 5, 2018 by SignGuy81
Tanooki #25 Posted February 5, 2018 Well yeah it will eventually sell. Either someone will just not care, get impatient, or the price will creep up until someone wants it so you're fine. You did over pay for a dead system at $30 though, that was a mistake. I still would have included that GC controller even if it was chewed up on the handle if that's the worst of it. As long as it wasn't scratchy to bug someones hand it would help. One could also use a very fine grit sandpaper or wet magic eraser and file the worst of that mess down too but just note it when selling is another choice.
