Intellivision Flashback rarity and prices

Recommended Posts

The spare controllers are all gone, and unfortunately AT Games has no intention of making more.

that make me sad to hear.

Time to go on the hunt for more Inty FB in the wild out there before all the cheap ones are really all gone

Someone could contact the Chinese manufacturer and have more controllers made. They could even package it with a raspberry pi and sell an Intellivision compatible system possibly with some homebrew rom files.

Wow, are these really so rare? A couple of years ago, they couldn't give them away... I saw them at the Toys-R-Us and those "Not-Really-A-Dollar-Store" for about $10.00.

I never saw them that cheap around me. They had sales around Black Friday the first year they came out for as low as $20 at Dollar General. Every year since then all the ones I've seen at Dollar General, Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Walmart had been locked at $39.99. I haven't seen a single one in a brick & mortar in at least 6 months to a year. The only ones online are marked up and in 2ndary markets. Amazon lists them for over $200. eBay sales are hovering around $40-50 used ($50-80 New). CGE exclusives with signed sleeve have recently sold for $80, $150, and $250 on eBay.

I think Flashbacks are just hot these days and with the Nintendo ones retailing at $60 and $80 (if you can find them), people just expect to pay $50+ for a flashback...and more if you can't find them retail.

I'm glad I bought the spare controllers when INTV Productions first put them out. Then picking up a spare system cheap, that would put me at 6 controllers, which should last me a while...
