_The Doctor__
If you look at the Big Box there is a couple of reference id's on them and also on the cassette themselves... there were also addendum lists for tapes coming out later in the year for example look at math tapes on the left is Mr and the cassette number corresponding to the lesson with it but on right side is the the M200 series (a)... luckybuck
Yeah, you all beat me, the evidence is overwhelming. I am not getting old, I am old. Must update the list. Edu before games, always. If things like this happen again, I may consider to make an EEG. Thank you. www.atarimania.com
I was going to say "no exact source, I had this on hand-written notes from years ago" but just found this: https://archive.org/details/dorsettcoursewarecatalog Additionally, both Basic Army Skills and Reading Development - K-1 (as a set of 30 programs) are listed in The Software Catalog - Summer 1985 published by Elsevier. About 99% sure there's a demo cassette as well. 2
www.atarimania.com
BTW, does anybody know whether this series was ever released?
luckybuck
Uh ha, great list! Btw, Datamost has made a lot of programs: http://www.atarimania.com/list_games_atari-400-800-xl-xe-datamost_publisher_1176_8_G.html Did you check, whether Kay may have interviewed the guys? Else yellopages in the US? Else LinkedIn? I mean, we never give up and we never surrender...
www.atarimania.com
I'm not sure what to make of the MindWare series. IIRC, Datamost went bust in 1984 and the ad is from 1986. This may have been an attempt to relaunch the company that didn't succeed.
luckybuck
In 1986 the ST was already available... What about a maybe function (didn't try by myself) in ebay to put this in a search option? Else in US economy papers about the company to find out the names of the founders and insert them into LinkedIn?
www.atarimania.com
I didn't check with Kay and don't want to tread on his toes as he's the one doing the interviews of the big guys. I have MANY names of former programmers, owners... but have not done much yet. I'm all for sharing information, getting in touch with these people, maybe having some sort of group where everything is centralized but this would need to be done properly and seriously. As I said, I don't want to step on anybody's territory so maybe it's just a matter of having people speak up if they're interested in this larger project? luckybuck
Yes, sure, but we dont't have to ask Kay, all the ANTIC podcasts are in iTunes for example with text, whom he has already interviewed, the same for the companies. Just an idea, of course.
www.atarimania.com
The interviews listed are those that exist, not the upcoming ones
